The Hobbit Hole XXIII - Let them go! Let them go!
Posted on 07/12/2005 8:11:36 PM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Let them go! Let them go!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Me, too. I'm starving, didn't bring any lunch because I planned to go home early. Just waiting for the backup that went south last night to finish...
On the plus side, I'm at my new desk and I've got books for my class now.

I ate too much today. Took my brother out to lunch and then proceeded to nibble the rest of the afternoon on the lunch I brought from home. *sigh*
15 more minutes....

Oh, I meant to tell you about the silly book I was reading. In addition to all the stupid cliches, formulaic pitfalls, and onomatopaeas (there should be a limit to the number of -POW!-s and -SPLAT!-s on a page) - it ended with about four Scooby-Doo endings!
The really sad thing is that he got published. And I haven't. Harumph. I think he's inspired me to be serious about nanowrimo this year.

onomatopoeias
durn Latin words are hard to spell.
To: Lil'freeper
Wow... that's quite something.
Ok. LF is to be bugged from late September onward to join NaNoWriMo. Woo-hoo!

ROFLOL! priceless.
A sprayground is a playground where water sprays at you from various fountains. It's like running through sprinklers or getting water dumped on your head from buckets.

And *POW* a branch crashed against the window of Professor Knucklehead's bedroom window...

Okay, I get the concept from the water park. And one of snooty outdoor malls here has a smaller version.

I'm still thinking we need to tag team a writing project. Somebody starts and forwards it on to the next person. We each get a chapter.

The more the merrier!
I still need a plot. I don't have a clue what to write about this time around. I've joked around about a few possibilities, but don't have anything concrete.

He was a dark and stormy knight... And -POW- a branch knocked him off his horse. He landed -SPLAT - in a mud puddle. He cursed when he felt the muddy, cold water seep into his chainmail. Darn, I'm going to chafe now, he thought.
To: RosieCotton
I have an opening paragraph for two. I have no idea where they will go from there.

Of course, this is assuming my lack of job success hasn't driven me over the edge. Hard to type when you're wearin' a straitjacket.
