Still round the corner there may wait |

Home is behind, the world ahead, |
Isn't it one of the Fruits of the Spirit? I've got laziness, self-centeredness, and sarcasm.
Up until the time that Big Chef sent out the email saying otherwise, the new group told everyone that BA CHEF no longer existed. We couldn't refute it, because they had the email list to notify everyone. We did the best we could to let everyone know. Then our former leader neglected to BCC an email she sent out to all the membership and we were able to grab all the email addresses and get the word out to everyone.
LOL :~D
Ha ha! You guys...
Be sure to let anyone who asks know that.
A true God-incidence!
I'm not sure I have a Scripture reference for that.
But on a similar note, I am ~thinking~ about doing Nanowrimo this year.
Working title: "Is Nothing Sacred? A Novel of Political Incorrectness"
They came right out and said it was not a democracy. That was another catch phrase. We've all heard it from different people in their leadership.
The heirarchy is this...
The Leader, who was elected 3 years ago and nothing since.
The Steering Committee, consisting of 3 ladies hand-picked by The Leader (Celeste being one of them.)
Team Leaders, consisting of about 12 ladies chosen by The Steering Committee.
These people were the ones that made the decision to leave CHEF. Not the membership.
I guarantee we're going to attempt to put by-laws in place to prevent this from happening again. One of the people on the Steering Committee had complete charge of the checkbook, so when they left and took the money with them, there was nothing we could do. We're going to set it up that BA CHEF has complete freedom with the checkbook, but that Big CHEF has the ability to shut down the account if need be.
Has this done permanent damage to your friendship with Celeste?
I have to say it has. What she did was not only immoral and un-Christlike, it bordered on, if not actually was criminal! Can you imagine this kind of thing happening with any other "non-Christian" organization?? People would be in court so fast it would make your head spin! The only reason they "got away" with it was because we're trying to just let them go with as little attention as possible so as not to bring scandal to Christ to the outside community.
But Paul says "Alexander, the Coppersmith did me much harm; the Lord will repay him according to his deeds". (2 Timothy 4:14)
They'll have to answer eventually.
I wonder if you'll be subpoenaed to testify.
;-)
Seriously, though...this just broke my heart. I cried the whole meeting last week to the point my eyes were nearly swollen shut.
I know it's been hard on you. And I can only hope that the worst of it is over.
I think it is. After tonight, and the meeting night issue is resolved one way or another, i think we'll be able to move on with things. This is the last issue, imo.
And I did go to church this past Sunday...about half the homeschoolers in our church are going with the new group. I almost didn't want to go back because of them but thought better of it. They're gonna have to face me!
Went to church this morning. Did a lot of praying that I get the college computer support job.
And then I had to laugh a little, 'cause the Gospel reading was the one that says "It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for one who is rich to enter the Kingdom of God."
I feel like Tevye - I don't want to be rich, but would it be so terrible if I had a *small* fortune? Heh.
*sigh* I'd really like a job that did more than just barely get me by. And I'd really like this particular job! The reading *did* also say "for God all things are possible", so maybe I have a chance...
Try not to get toooo worked up about it. That doesn't help, after all.
Ungh, had another awful bike ride. Dunno why I'm suddenly bad at this again.
I'm off! I'm going to Sam's to get some more VHS tapes. My school taping starts this Sunday. Also I need to run copies of the membership application off for people who want to join tonight.
Heh...funny, how it worked out. Had this never happened, I woulda been just another face in the crowd. Now I've been swept into this membership coordinator position and it's scary! But also kind of exciting!
I'll never forget this lesson I learned from the former leadership on how one *ought* to lead.
Are your tires getting soft, maybe? That adds a lotta friction.
I've got this running conversation going with the Holy Spirit all the time, sis...I bring you up frequently! :-)
