The Hobbit Hole XXIII - Let them go! Let them go!
Posted on 07/12/2005 8:11:36 PM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Let them go! Let them go!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

A minimoot would be great! I know I can change plans at the last minute next week, but then again my schedule is much more flexible than either of yours.
For example, we might be going to 6-flags this afternoon. My mother called this morning and I need to go over there to activate her/my cellphone. She also wants to take the kiddos to 6-flags. We are leaving in about 20 minutes to get there by lunchtime. We usually spend the night over there whenever we go so the kids can have quality time with grandma.
While at her house, I freep as msdrby. (LOL, I never remember the password for peanut gallery. peanut gallery is *supposed* to be elf-boy's account, hehe.)

Yeah - but as luck would have it.... 2J's right in the middle of it. :~D

OKC is in the middle...I'm in the NE corner. It's called Green Country by the locals.

I did accidently drive past the school book depository building one time... LOL, the Dallas MEPS is directly across the grassy knoll from the school book depository. When I went to swear the oath, we went right past it. I have never been there before that, and lived in the metroplex almost all my life.
Born in Arlington, lived in Garland, back to Arlington, lived in Tulsa, then back to Garland, and back to Arlington... enter College Station, and then the USNavy. All that encompassed 25 years. Ten years later, we are still in the D/FW metroplex. LOL. Though, there ARE places in the Dallas area I would not even drive to much less want to live there.

Oh - I thought you were more central.

No, if I was in the OKC area, I'd go down to see Lil' in a heartbeat! It is really not far from there. But OKC is an hour and a half away from here taking the turnpike.

Good friend of mine is about to move to Dallas. I spent a summer in Arlington back in college. The folks are in SanAntonio and I have cousins and such all around TX (Plano, Baytown, Austin, etc). My parents met at A&M. I often wonder why I am in Iowa...

Now he's singing about his funny valentine.
I wish we have more crooners. It's such a great sound.
To: Lil'freeper
er, wish we *had* more crooners....
To: Lil'freeper
Heh, you can keep 'em. Frank gets on my nerves. Makes me think of lounge lizards.

Now we have the BBC Orchestra playin' the
One O'clock Jump and it's only 12:30.
I don't have a thing for Frank, per se. I like to sound, the genre, and the 'innocence' of the era.
To: Lil'freeper
boy, I'm having a hard time typing today:
I like *the* sound, the genre, etc...
To: Lil'freeper
To: Lil'freeper
Innocence, as embodied by a singer with mob connections?
Nice irony!
