The Hobbit Hole XXIII - Let them go! Let them go!
Posted on 07/12/2005 8:11:36 PM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Let them go! Let them go!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Possibly, maybe - who knows. The only drawback is that the people I'd be meeting with give me anxiety attacks. Awful people. :(
To: Lil'freeper
lol... Austin. ;) about 190 miles south on I35 from DFW...

If you're ever in Denver let us know, you can come up or we'll drive down.

We're gonna have to draw up a test for ya - "Match these Hobbit Holers to their respective domiciles".

Denver isn't likely, unfortunately. I'd love to see Colorado again. Was listening to John Denver in the car yesterday and I got all sentimental. I saw him play in Denver at the Bowling Green - his last tour. Ah Denver.

It could be an interactive java thingy on the website...

Hate to tell ya' dude. Them ain't chickens in the picture.
To: Lil'freeper
It's a kind of cool city! No match for Pittsburgh, IMO - talk about urban beauty and nifty architecture - but I've had fun every time I've been down there.

Denver has some neat history and awesome museums. If you get the chance, you must go to the living history museum in Littleton. We did lots of research and training up there when I was doing living history work for the BSA.

Nothing to worry about, really.
I've practicing behavior mod strategies. I now roll my eyes dramatically everytime one of their names is mentioned instead of hyperventillating.

I'm the same as LF on our Texas folk. I don't know who's near what in Texas.
Heck, I couldn't couldn't place HHers or even major cities on the map. :~D

I know that Bear and Rose are in Austin and that 2J is near Tulsa...but I couldn't tell ya where exactly in TX and OK those are or how far apart.
I guess we all tend to be kinda shaky on areas outside our own.

Not for Texas, nope! Everyone else I could pinpoint more or less. 'Cept 2J, she'd just be in Oklahoma somewhere.

We're going to
the funeral tomorrow.
I am still getting emails from the new support group and they're encouraging their members to go as well. I imagine there'll be a bunch of us all there.
It's sure taken my mind off things. Last night Matthew got up for a drink and because I like his company and because it's the summer and because I'm milk toast, I let him stay up with me and we sat and visited on the couch. It was nice, sitting with my arm around my son, just talking. Next thing I knew I woke up, it was 2:30am and he was sound asleep. I thought about that poor Marine's mom for a while before I got him into his bed..
