Clare and I were in Tokyo for two weeks visiting some homeschooler friends who have moved there for a couple of years. We got home on Aug. 4th. We had a great time! If you freepmail your e-mail addy, I'll send you a link the the York slideshow of some pics.
Yah. The depositions would be a real eye-opener for 'em. :-)
Niters... :-)
I'm glad you liked it. We had a wonderful time! We're thinking about Clare doing her first semester of college at an intensive Japanese language program there. I'd feel much more comfortable about her being there since our friends would be no more than a half hour away from her by train.
I got it, and I'm viewing them now. Very neat.
They'd have to serve a summons, right. Instant ZOT right there!
Glad you got it. Sorry about missing the number! ;o)
The pictures and captions are great!
snicker --they do love people food! LSA
Heh... I think Josie could be in the next *county* and she can still hear me opening a new can of tuna fish.
The funny thing is that she won't eat fancy albacore tuna and her chunk light must be packed in water with salt. No oil or sodium-free please.
Oh, that's cool, I could navigate that! Were they pretty friendly? I get the impression that Japan thinks better of us than most countries but I've only hung out with a few actual folk from that country.
Heh - their hearing is incredible.
Have a safe trip.
Well, goodnight.
Oh, yeah? Well, I.... er... well... *fuming*
Night! I'm pooped too. Flight doesn't leave until 3:05 so I'll be online tomorrow morning.
Heh... Josie's sorta "particular" too.
Yeesh: We've caught *fresh* salmon off the dock... cleaned and dressed... offered a small portion as a super-special treat...
No joy. Snubbed her nose at it, she did.
Now tell me: What sort of self-respecting CAT could possibly snub salmon... and not just any salmon but absolutely right-now *fresh* salmon... it's just not right I tell you.
Something is wrong with that cat.
The thing that stuck out the most was the incredible politeness of the people in the stores, restaurants, etc. I only encountered one man who was in the least bit unhelpful. Even those who spoke no English tried to help as much as possible.if we needed it
Heh... funny how there's the two stereotypes of Japanese people, the "ultra-polite" one and the "Japanese tourist" one. I'm glad you had fun!
Funny you should mention that. Yeesh... seems like all my Dad and Dona could talk about when they got back from the Alaska cruise was how flippin' rude the Japanese passengers were.
All you hear about Japan is how polite everybody is there... but something seems to happen to them when they're off island, for some reason. Cain't 'splain it.
Maybe it's cuz they think that's how non-Japanese folk are supposed to act and they're just trying to fit in?
Or not.
