The Hobbit Hole XXIII - Let them go! Let them go!
Posted on 07/12/2005 8:11:36 PM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Let them go! Let them go!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Underground lair? I thought you were going for the tropical island with volcano model. You're not an evil overlord on a budget, are you?

Ooohhh... I likes it, precious.
Though I always pictured Smaug as more greenish, and with a shorter neck/longer body. But that's lovely.

It's not that late... not here anyway. Sulk.
I couldn't get motivated to funkle. I'm more the spam sort. Funkling's a slow sport.

We were talky, weren't we?
It was a really boring day at work. Tomorrow will be worse, since I'll be thinking about my trip Friday.

Rose and I will be driving to San Antonio Friday to get our eyes checked. Just a little 90 mile drive.

Not bad. I like driving. I'll be going some 1800 miles but I guess with the detour to Memphis for my layover it's a lot more than that. But I only have to drive a little of that.

I like driving too, and it'll be nice to get out of town a little bit.
Still have to work tomorrow though, and it is late now, here. Good night!

Good night...
I should go to bed and read... a most unusual science fiction novel in which the alien is arguing to the atheist scientist that the universe was obviously created. Interesting sort of reversal from the usual.

Morning All - heading out to MoJAM 2005 in a bit. The CA. contingent arrived last nite at KCI. Few things left to pack up and we'll be off. Will be back on Sunday.
G'nad-hope to see you Saturday, our camp will be about the same place as last year. LSA is will be up for a visit on Saturday, accompanied by Gypsygirl. LSA got me a one time digital camera with preview, whoohoo, tecknology has come to OB (sort of) at last.
OT & Hair - Have a great Labmoot this weekend. Any range time planned? Hair, OT is pretty good, you won't have to spot her many points.
Seeya'll on Sunday.

Hobbitses and other folks must be worn out from all that chatting yesterday.
And the undead wedding thread lives on....

Good morning!
I wasn't feeling good last night...thought I was getting a cold or something. Headache, itchy throat, achy.
Took some Alka Seltzer and went to bed. I still feel a little off kilter, but I'm alright. Slept like a log.
