~thinks there's a lot of weirdness in the internet today~
Are you having Comcast issues, too? Ours has been blinking out off and on all day - never for long, but it's irritating.
Probably so. Probably...
My friend mailed it on the day I left Tokyo; last Thursday morning (Wed. night here). That didn't take as long as I thought it might. It is a great picture of Mt. Fuji, huh? Unfortunately we never got to see it in person. Both days we were in areas from which we might have seen it, it was too cloudy or hazy to do so.
No - connection here has been OK but our server is down... the the HHdot.net site is down...
And I mostly meant the people on it were acting funny. Funny queer, not funny "haha". :~D
Ah...OK. ;-)
Yeah, a great pic! I've never seen a "real" picture of Mt Fuji before, just the ubiquitous shots in anime.
Postcards seem to travel a lot faster than regular mail, I don't know why. It's vey cool
This reminds me...
PBS is having their begging for dollars drive again. So, they aired a show "The Theory of Everything" (At least, I ~think~ that is what it was called). I have seen it before; didn't want to watch it again with all the interruptions. However, it is interesting and focuses on String Theory.
I prefer the 'Ball of Cheese' Theory in which the whole universe it made of of various size balls of cheese which we can not perceive because we are not hungry enough. (H < nC)
2J,
That is exactly what needed to be done on your part. If you feel at paece about it, good. You should. As for your friendship, I am sorry that it has suffered so much these past few days. I'll keep that in my prayers.
I agree that you should talk to your pastor, too. You have a unique point of view on this that will be helpful to the group at church. Otherwise, it could develop into something very ugly, and I pray that it won't.
Silly string, or the cats-cradle sort?
Evidently the server is running... I can reach it via IP address (http://209.59.166.122/~the-hob/freeper/ ), although that makes it display incorrectly. Perhaps some kind of bad DNS juju going around.
If it doesn't fix itself, I'll check with my host and see if they know what's going on. Didn't see any kind of announcement posted on their site.
Much weirdness, that is.
I don't think I can talk to the pastor. We have a massive massive church and he doesn't know me from Adam. He does know C and A, though, because they are leaders in the church. A is a deacon and C is one of the leaders of our homeschool group in church.
I also hate to say it, but I suspect C doesn't have any idea (or didn't maybe until last night) how truly upset I am. I'm very likely the last thing on her mind right now. She's got bigger fish to fry.
~sigh~
Well, looking forward...I found the old BA CHEF membership application online. (They took all that kinda "hardcopy" stuff with 'em when they left.) So, as "membership coordinator" I'm going to see about running off some copies of it and having it available at the next meeting.
It all just seems surreal...
LOL!
silly string, gotta be!
What??? Of COURSE you can talk to the pastor. Why is he there? Are you not a part of his ministry? Go to him, he needs to know what is going on. Otherwise, (as a last resort) if you still feel you cannot talk to your pastor, you may need to consider another church. Sorry, I will step off the soap box now.
2J,
I am sorry. My words were harsh and I know you are suffering. However, you should NEVER feel that you cannot go to your pastor. It is a red flag.
Well, moving to another church might happen. I liked it there, but didn't love it. We stayed because they had a great homeschool group...which C is a leader of.
At this point I'm still trying to deal with the whole situation and I have no idea what I'm going to about this. How can I belong to a homeschool group where she's the leader??? I distrust her utterly! The funny thing is I am really not angry at her...my main emotion remains astonishment and distrust.
If that's true, and if you let her know last night, I bet you are more on her mind than you think, at least now.
