Afternoon OT - Are the raised beds corners a plastic stake with two plastic pieces for the boards to be slipped into? or is like a big L bracket that you nail or screw to the boards? The boards you're planning to use are 2X4X8 right?
If you're putting 2 2X4s on top of one another, just use the a couple of the 4 ft 2X4s as middle braces. Nail or screw as you prefer. You'll have two 4X4 squares instead of one 4X8 rectangular bed.
The 2X4s will probably flex more than the 2X6s which we used (as they were left over from some other project). Interior bracing is a good idea to keep it all together.
Don't want to mess around with those. Tell PE to get well soon.
I've got six 2x6's about 10 ft. long and 3 2x6's that are around 5 to 6 ft. long. I also have 4 shorter lengths of 2x6's... maybe 4 ft long. The corners are plastic holders that you screw to the wood and plastic spike.
*Sigh* I must be taking up Corin's slack since he's on vacation. 10 minutes after firing up the grill, I get a downpour.
I was going to stack 'em 3 boards high (18").
Posting just to get the HH back onto my "My Comments" page...
Hmmm. Higher than I made ours, Our brackets would take up to a 2X8, which is why I used the left over 2X6s. W
hat are the exterior dimensions you're planning? At 18 inches high, that's a lot of dirt and compost.. :-)
Yup, saw that little thunderstorm on the radar page, amazing.
about 10x5 feet.
Guess I could always re-think the design.
Or get a decent cuttin' tool.
Hehehe....pulled the lid down on the coals so the fire didn't go out.
Steak's history now. :)
Hmmm. POWER TOOLS..table saw, band saw, circular saw, chain saw...
Or a contractor tool box hand saw from a bigbox store, 12 point, about 15 bucks and tube of Icy-Hot. :-)

Hello my friends,
I've started another egroup for the new support group. For the time being, any of you who want to join can do so without moderator approval. I sent out an invitation that includes instructions on how to join. I will be maintaining that egroup until someone comes forward to take over ownership of the egroup from me, as I will not be joining the new support group.
As far as this egroup is concerned, I will keep it going just as it is. In the past, I have always had leaders to instruct me on how it should be run, but as of this email, I don't have anyone to fill this void for me. So until I find out just what to do, for the time being, I will just maintain it just the way it is, no one will be added, no one will be removed. It will remain the BA CHEF egroup and I will continue to maintain it unless I hear otherwise from the new BA CHEF leadership.
You are all very dear to me.

That sounds pretty reasonable. I hope it helps the situation...
Gosh, Sunday afternoons are long! We're having artichokes for dinner though, mmm.
See, I started that other egroup after Celeste told me there was no more BA CHEF. She told me to just change the name of our original egroup but I didn't feel right about it, then later on found out that BA CHEF was still around and I was so glad I didn't just rename the egroup!
It's the major blow to my friendship with Celeste...I felt like her telling me that there was no more BA CHEF and then telling me to just rename the egroup was underhanded.
I do think with time and healing it'll be all right to some extent, however...I'm more hurt than angry and more surprised than hurt, if that makes sense.
Had I known that BA CHEF still existed, I wouldn't have even bothered starting that new egroup...but I thought I had to join it because it was my only option barring driving to Tulsa or some other community and joining their CHEF support group.

How beautiful! Must be very peaceful. Unless of course you're Ruthy riding a horse.
LOL!!
;-)
Finished off the rest of the roll of film with pictures of TheNewHouse and the newly-painted bedroom. Got to have pictures....I'm vacationing with TheRelatives next week and they'll want to see house pictures.
Netflix movie for tonight: The Pawnbroker. Eeeek!!
I guess we'll watch Deep Impact. Frodo's in it.
Oh dear...
