The Hobbit Hole XXIII - Let them go! Let them go!

Posted on 07/12/2005 8:11:36 PM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Let them go! Let them go!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

If you want to email it to me, I'd be happy to critique it.

You need to practice dreaming your dream self some heavy artillery.

Everybody's dream mechanism includes a "censor", a piece of the conscious mind that oversees, to one degree or another, the dream. Mine provides me with weapons upgrades when needed, and reminds me to improve my cover, and to count my shots for a quick change to a full mag during a lull.

And that 26 ounce Smith N-frame just ain't natural.

They have a little 12oz one in .44mag too :D

Not that sort of thing I would want to plink with but a heck of an anti-varmit tool for hiking trips. I do prefer autoloaders but the lightweight bigbore revolver is pretty much tailor made for the job of a hiking buddy.

I love that part. Just when your subconscious is wondering what it all means to be jousting dinosaurs in a field of spaghetti, in your BVD's your censor taps it on the shoulder and say's "Hey buddy, why don't you go hide behind that '57 Ford over there. And here, take this atomic bazooka. It might come in handy."

Any chance I could get you to print a couple documents for me at work? The printer is out of ink again, and laser printed would look nicer, in any case...

Precious...

So what's the best way to kill two people and dispose of their bodies? DemonLady is a job hazard, I almost can deal with her when she doesn't go out of her way to be evil. Like she did today. And that CREEP was after me again. Shudder.

Too messy, and it would require me touching the creep, who I'm sure is a walking hive of communicable diseases.

I always thought the "I think you're scum, go away and die" approach worked even on the worst of morons.
