The Hobbit Hole XXIII - Let them go! Let them go!
Posted on 07/12/2005 8:11:36 PM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Let them go! Let them go!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

One morning one of the hymns written on the list was "Peace Like a Liver."*snicker*
Along those lines, one site I used to go to for lyrics to folk and bluegrass songs was put together by a Japanese guy. MOST of the time he had everything straight, but one day I was amused to find "Bully Me Beneath the Willow".
Kind of a different meaning.

That's just bad. It should be "four-tus", anyway.
Sister and I are off to look at mountains, deface the tundra, and spraddle the Continental Divide. Back later tonight.

Anyone know how to size down a video to a reasonable resolution to post? I have a 65 MB file that I'd like to make smaller.

Good Morning Rosie - was about an about while it is relatively pleasant, it was 90 degrees at midnight and 82 at 0600. Sheesh.
The recent taglines are from the CD I got at MoJAM. You can check it out at www.yellowstonerustics.com They are Mark's CD's. I think you can hear parts of selected ones. CD is entitled "Feathers in the Wind" It's way cool for those interested in archery and bowhunting.

If'n I'd been up at 6:00 when I started, I'd be thru with what I planned to do today.
As it is, I haven't even been to Lowes yet...

Try the free trial version of
Ulead DVD Movie Factory. It's what I use... it'll let you resize the image height & width, change the video sample rate, and change the audio sample rate if it has audio.
64 MB is not that big a file, video-wise... how many minutes does it run?
Oh... (yawn) Good morning...

It's an accidental video I took on the trail yesterday. The button got set to video and I didn't know it was recording. It's only a couple minutes... but the file size is too big for most people to want to download just for a chuckle.
To: HairOfTheDog
Ah, ok... I'm guessing it's in MPEG format? You might want to Google around to find a utility to convert it to a more compact format, like AVI or DIVX. Unfortunately I don't have any recommendations in that regard.
