The Hobbit Hole XXIII - Let them go! Let them go!
Posted on 07/12/2005 8:11:36 PM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Let them go! Let them go!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Yah...when the BEST that can come of things is having your hand down the gullet of a really mad catfish, it's probably time to seek a new hobby.
I admit it might be interesting to watch, in a Crocodile Hunter kind of way. Kind of a boy-that-guy-is-nuts-but-this-is-strangely-intriguing *cringe* kind of way.

Neat tagline, by the way. What's that from?

He's a good guy, my dad.
I wish he and my mom had stuck it out. I miss him since he's so far away (Chicago).

Pretty good. The job is the same as ever and the kids are doing wonderfully.
Becky and I went trail riding last weekend and had a great time.
Alyson is growing like a weed (she just turned 3) and now the battle of the potty truly begins...
It's a grand adventure! LOL!

In all likehood, it wasn't developed as a hobby rather as a way to procure food, and for that purpose it does require a mimimal outlay of resources. I'd say nowdays, you may be correct, it's right up with 'hey, hold my beer and watch this, guys'.
G'nite ALL.

I'd better get some shut-eye if I'm gonna be worth a thing to these kids tomorrow.
Nighty night everyone!

I will! I always have as a buyer. I've had good experiences so far. One time I thought I was purchasing one thing, even asked to make sure and then when I got it it was the wrong thing. When I complained to the seller, he gave me the item and refunded my money too! I put a glowing feedback for him!
Did you see my ebay profile?

Evenin'. Sister and I took in "The Island" at the local megaplex. Must look up who wrote that, it was very Philip K. Dick-esque. I liked it a lot.

Oh, is that out this week? Rose was interested in seeing it.
The promos made me think of a cross between "Logan's Run" and "Parts: The Clonus Horror".

It was fun, it did have some "eww, I can't believe people would do that" moments but it was mostly fairly mindless action (read, I liked it).

Cool. We're planning a mountain excursion tomorrow so I think I'll have some wine and stay up another half hour or so.
