The Hobbit Hole XXIII - Let them go! Let them go!
Posted on 07/12/2005 8:11:36 PM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Let them go! Let them go!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

OT is at my house visiting :~D
Pippin, if you're just going to jump into the thread every few thousand posts, you're going to miss a few mini-dramas :~D
To: Pippin
I expect I'll be even more confused tomorrow morning.

Oh, MAN!
He was such a great character. Loved the episode of Next Gen where he had a guest role.

That's what I've always heard, that James Doohan really was like Scotty. Did he get asked to do the Scotty voice a lot?
Missed the tunnel of psychadelic lights in Detroit, I was very bummed.

Yeah, I saw that.... you should touch base with them Friday or so. Jobs like that often want to hear back from you, shows initiative.

I have no emotional investments in TV dinners...

I like 'em! I mean, how smart an invention!
In essence, my "cook for a day, eat for a month" thing I want to do is a kind of TV dinner...

I just requested this book from the library...
Frozen Assets
I can't really afford the upfront money it would take to actually do it, but I can read up and study so that when I *can* afford it, I'll be ready!

Aah! that is too bad.
Just had to jump up and interject in a conversation in the next door office. A bunch of engineers were speculating about the sentence, "the problem with wireless mikes is". They were debating if it should be 'is' or 'are' so I had to set the straight.
oops... just noticed I ripped my pants over lunch. Oh well this pair needed replacement anyway. I went to the Rockwell inventory disposal place and found 3 more of the super sweet monitor swing arms like the one by my couch. They clamp to a table and pivot and extend, can hold many pounds, and have a flat surface perfect for dinner or a laptop to sit on while I watch tv or read a book. 10 bucks each for somethings that were probably several hundred when they were new :D I love mine and had really wanted another. Finding 3 made my day.
To: 2Jedismom
Did you hear how they got invented? After Thandkgiving they had a huge number of frozen turkeys and wanted to get rid of them. So this guy came up with the idea of making a 'turkey and fixns' premade dinner. I think they first packagings they used were made to look like a TV.
To: TalonDJ
Heh... all you need to do is memorize all prepositionsm because prepositional phrases can be eliminated safely from a sentence and then the subject/verb are obvious.
Those swing arms sound cool. Very bachelor-paddish, maybe I should find some.

Well, OT is on her way home.... Left a little bit ago headed to the airport!
I hope she had a good time :~D

The curved panels are glass and etched with a pattern that looks very vaguely like a undersea scape. The lights slowly cycle through the whole range of colors.
