New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red, |

Still round the corner there may wait |

Home is behind, the world ahead, |

So now the only suprise left is when Hagrid hooks up with Hermione - oops, shouldn't have said that.
;-)
Well, there's a visual image you don't get every day...
I understand.... even thought they looked like ugly little things, I don't want to feed and care for something I am gonna eat.... I know myself well enough.
Although.... I certainly helped feed and grain Bob's steers, but they get so pushy toward the end I'd shoot them myself!
The meat itself was dry? Too dry?
I aim to please...
Little sister's not up yet. Should I wake her before I leave?
Seems like with the next ones you'll get more used to it.
Maybe if you cut down on their TV watching you'd feel less involved...
Does she have a reason to get up?
Little Chicken was pretty dry. I had to use Tabasco on it to get it down. Made pretty good sandwiches though, with lots of mayo.
Big Chicken is gonna be the same way 'cept I've got the gravy to go with it. That oughta help. (Also, you know, with the giblet gravy...I can't tell who's who. LOL!!)
I mean, they have almost no fat on 'em.
Next time I will be feeding them corn chops toward the end to put fat on them.
Either fatten them up or marinate them overnight. :)
ROFLOL!!
Yep. Plus when I have a bunch (25-50) I won't know who's who. But that won't happen till we get the farm, of course.
And I have to say the rest of my family loved it and had no trouble, which makes it all worth while.
The steers get grained at the end for the same reason...
Surprised though, that they were too extra lean, even though yours were free to wlk around, they didn't look like they were running laps or anything. ;~D
Exactly.
This is true, but they did get more exercise than store-bought chickens which amazingly caused them to be more lean!
They didn't run laps though...for sure. They were pretty lazy most the time! LOL I never had to worry about them running off. I'd raise up the tractor and pick one up and carry it in to it's tote and when I came back, the other would still be standing there...LOL!
Puffy, on the other hand, is hard to catch. Of course she would be because she eats and poops and doesn't worry about laying eggs so she doesn't squat.
Nope, no reason for her to be up. She likes Mountain Time a lot, it fits her natural schedule better.
Welcome back Jen.... So you have the new book read already and you liked it?
She's a free spirit chicken.
Read it twice, actually, once in the family group-read and once on the trip back. It's not quite as good as book 3, better than most of book 5 - which are my favorites. So a thumbs-up.
Puffy knows.
Good! With all the hype, I'm glad she's keeping up the quality of the stories...
Heh... I bet the hype doesn't even phase her. At this point, she has more money than her future grandkids will be able to spend. She's doing it for the love of it, now, not the money.
