Does anyone know of an HTML converter either on the internet or available for free download, that will convert pre-formatted text or tables into an HTML code. For a lot of stuff you can just right-click and view the selection source, but when it comes to creating my own stuff, a person with limited HTML knowledge can’t do much. Anyone know of anything?
I think Microsoft Word (97 and later) has that feature.
Unfortunatley that doesn’t help. I know bold, italicize, underline, align, paragraph, list, but when it comes to more complicate stuff, that these HTML threads don’t cover, I’m hopless.

If you have Word 2003, you can use Save As to save a regular Word doc as any of the following:

To find out how they differ, look in the online help's Table of Contents, under Word And The Web > Creating Web Pages.
(You have similar options in earlier versions of Word, such as Save As HTML, ...)
Word also has Web templates.

Yeah, I didn't read that you wanted specific info. I'd suggest a book.
Micro$oft Work$. I don't have 30 bucks to shell out on Word
Free options:
Download the full Mozilla suite (Not Firefox, which is just the browser) from Mozilla.org. It has a simple, decent HTML editor.
Download OpenOffice. The text editor in it is the equal to, or superior to Word, and you can save as HTML, as I recall.
In MS Works Word Processor, you can use File > Save As to save a regular document as an HTML Document.
In the Save As dialog box's Save As Type field, just select HTML Document.
I'll tell you a secret.
You can use Thunderbird (http://www.mozilla.org/products/thunderbird/)- the email client from the people who brought you Firefox - to convert your HTML.
Type in your text as you'd like to see it posted - then click on: Insert/HTML - copy and paste from the little window into your posting.
Ta'da!
Notetab lite is their free version and it is an amazing program.
I think it has what you want and a HECK of a lot more.
Get Outlook Express going, "create mail," be sure you have enabled the view source function ( punch "view," then "source edit," and a lower taskbar will appear in the email for "source." )and cut & paste what you want to see.
When done, poke the "source" in the lower taskbar, and you can see- and copy- the embedded HTML. This works ( most of the time ) on most web pages and for text and graphics.
Also, although it's been a while since I've used it, Netscape has a built-in HTML editor... what the "H," you might try it- it's a free download.
Its available with the Mozilla suite as well, but without all of the garbage that comes with Netscape, where you'll need to spend a week rooting out all of the AOL icons and Net2Phone offers plastered on your computer.
