What About Aruba?!!!!!
Posted on 07/07/2005 1:43:09 PM PDT by GulliverSwift
How come the media has stopped talking about the crime of the century? What could possibly be more important than a missing teenage girl in Aruba?
They've completely distorted their priorities. < /sarcams>

If it was your teenage daughter you would most likely think it was the most important thing in the world.

The London bombings were a plot by Aruba to get their name out of the headlines! I heard that in a government facility.

Don't worry--they'll be off of this story in a few days and Greta can get back to business as usual.

Imagine how Shasta Groenes father felt when the media deserted him and ran off to Aruba.

Don't disagree with you there.
But that's not an international story, like they've tried to make it.

She's dead. And unless they find the body and the murder weapon sometime soon (assuming that's even possible anymore--we
are talking about an island in the open sea) good luck on locking anybody up for it.
There. All done.

It is really very sad that it takes a horrible terrorist act to make the media shift away (temporarily) from these tabloid and most insignificant stories they have been covering, like missing people, court trials, shark attacks, police chase, etc...

If the media we not covering that story so closely, those two black security guards would have already been executed for it. The authorities went after them like gangbusters - unlike the way they have treated the "aristocratic" suspects. I am glad there has been so much focus on this case. Americans need to wake up a realize that letting their precious teens go off on trips like this can be very dangerous despite all the fun they may have.
If it was your daughter, you would be grateful for the coverage.

This story is an embarassment. One person's death doesn't require this kind of coverage. I'm sorry if that sounds insensitive, but every day, thousands of people go missing or are dead before their time. The news media are not there to report these silly, pointless "storyline" stories, that are like "reality TV" versions of mystery stories and soap operas.
The media--particularly FOX, which is one of the few mainstream voices not in the bag for the libs--are asleep at the wheel as this country is dealing with important issues; a war unlike any other; giving aid and comfort to the enemy as accepted political "discussion"; choosing a judge for the most important judicial body in the land, whose decisions will affect MILLIONS, now and in the future; illegal immigration, and the LEGAL citizen patrolling of it filling in for the lack of government solutions; the economy, gay marriage, the WTC museum being controlled by moral relativists, the slow but definite leaning away from abortion "rights".
I'm sorry if it sounds insensitive, but one woman's disappearance--which wouldn't be news if she were fat, ugly and not blonde--doesn't deserve 1/100th of the airtime it's getting just so silly people can enjoy the suspense. Those infatuated with this story are ghoulish at worst, need more in their lives at best.
