A few of my 5th great grandfathers actually saw George Washington

Genealogy is great! My dad was born and raised literally down the road from where Washington was born. I have not established a family connection and don't think there is one with Washington, but Robert E. Lee is a 5th cousin 5 times removed to me thru my grandmother. Our family tree branches also include presidents Madison (Dolley too), both Harrisons, both Bushes and Nixon.

Ain't Genealogy fascinating?

I've been working on my mom and my dad's families for over 25 years now.

Whoa!

You're related to Dollyy Madison!

She's my favorite First Lady of the 19th century! :o)

How wonderful. It is amazing the ties you can find.
I too share several of Bush's family lines from N.E.
One of Lincoln's from Mass. several other prezs. also
some of the early Dutch lines of Roosevelt.

Lee goes back to Lighthouse Henry Lee.
What fun!!
