The FOA seem to think he is the only person who can deliver Democrat victories by exposing Republican fraud. It seems only the Democrats are being prosecuted for vote fraud. Some even convicted. So far, I haven't read in the news about Republican fraud. Oh, that's right, the media is pro-Republican. They never report on the dirty deeds of our Republican politicians. Never mind....
I thought Andy was a Nader supporter/Green Party? I read a post of his somewhere where he smacked down John Kerry. I've read numerous comments on other messageboards that he is a Green.
They need a new face for election reform. I think Andy is into the cause more for the money and adulation than actually doing anything substantial for election reform/vote fraud. He and others have tapped into a sweet deal. Notice all these organizations are Democratic based? You've got angry Democrats losing election after election and willing to give money to overturn these lost elections. Very sweet deal indeed. The donors to these orgs should require action and results before donating any MORE money. Throwing more money at someone who promises results is ignorant. The reason I feel this way is because of the alleged fraud by Bev, who Andy was a partner of and then his going on to fundraise again. Plus his choice of spokespersons/goons is abhorrent. You just don't treat donors the way they have been treated by Andy & Co.
This vote fraud crusade is just another "feel good" activity for the disaffected--who COULD expend their time, energy, and money on premature infants on the Rosebud Indian Reservation in South Dakota, or fraternizing with AIDS patients in a hospital in New York City, or being a mentor to fatherless children.
What gets me is there is a very simple answer to vote fraud.
(a) Paper ballots, marked by pencil.
(b) Identification of voters at the polling places.
(c) Severe penalties for abusing the ballot.
That's all, nothing more. Nothing fancy, everything simple.
It still irks me that that one student at Marquette University in 2000 got to vote six times for Gore, while I got to vote only one time for Bush, and his six votes counted just as my one vote.....and there were no penalties.
One man, one vote.
Very simple to do, without all this nonsense about using computers and machines and all that.
Your a,b&c is exactly how we should do it. Especially severe penalties. But ID "disenfranchises" Democrat's voters, according to them. If someone doesn't have ID, there are alot of things they are unable to do. Voting should be one of them.
Exactly right. We can't drive, buy booze, sign notarized documents, etc, without ID. But sure, let people vote away to their hearts' content without ID!
What the DUmmie types fail to understand, or more likely PRETEND to not understand, is that for every bogus/multiple vote a REAL voter is disenfranchised. They like that word "disenfranchised" in some instances but not in others it appears.
you know, I just don't understand the whole I.D. issue some people have. Like you said, you really can't function without some sort of official ID issued, for example, you can't set up a bank account, can't get an apartment, can't get cable (or at least I couldn't), can't buy beer/cigs, and so on.
Everyone who shows up to vote should be required to present an official government issued ID (DL, non-DL but ID card, etc). If they can't, well then, they can go home and pick it up or they are sol. My two cents...
Wwll - good, then!
Happy 4th of July everyone! I just finished my homemade brownies with frosting and homemade BBQ sauce. Yummy! I also made some of those Jello Wigglers. Never made them before. Used cookie cutters and they are the cutest things. Those are for my toddler-age nieces and nephews. My family lives about 500 feet from a lake and we will be funning and sunning all day.
Then a parade of decorated boats will cruise the lake. Plus city, stadium and personal fireworks, my favorite part! Two big shows and our own. Shhh, don't tell, but the fire dept said it was ok since we will shoot them out over the lake. We asked.
For some reason, the last couple of years, I have cried during fireworks. I think it is because they are patriotic and make me proud to be an American. Plus since I have discovered politics on the internet about a year and a half ago, I've seen the hate and disrespect Americans out there have for their own country and president. Sometimes I really wish I didn't discover sites like DU. It breaks my heart. How sad to live with that kind of hate that they, alone, can't really change, country-wise. They can only change within themselves. Heck, even as a party, they haven't been successful. But people like that just make me respect our country, president and troops even more.
Anyway, I wish everyone a safe and happy day, even you DU types. Go write your name in the air with a sparkler or set some of those black snake pellets off and enjoy yourself, friends and family. Cheers!
Happy 4th of July, everybody.
My "official" response to any notion that we are beating up on a poor sick man:

<<celebrates the birthday of H.M. the Queen every April 21.
Not sure why, but have been doing it since a sophomore in college.
I know you guys celebrate it in June, but I like historical accuracy.
It is probably set up on a proxy account, but very obviously belonging to Benburch.
One is sure this is seriously discouraged in democraticunderground.

I have read your 'official response' and that really gives me an idea that perhaps one of your fellow 'huskers can follow up on.
It sounds to me like one of your state's larger newspapers, like the Omaha World Herald, might be interested in a personal interest story about a fellow Nebraskan.
Like maybe a real journalist could write a story about an accountant from rural Nebraska being threatened with physical harm because he questioned an unregistered and unaccountable internet fund raiser.
And that real journalist might follow up with some phone calls to verify facts. Maybe a call to Mr. Angelos, or Mr. Pitt, or Mr. Grand Poohba, or request some verification from Mr. Stepenson or Ms. Dummette. Possibly even make calls to SOS in Washington, or the people responsible for Washington Medicare to verify some facts.
Now if I was from Nebraska (two years at Offutt 35 years ago doesn't qualify me) I would make that call. But I am not, so maybe one of your fellow Cornhuskers or Western Iowans might think the same as I.
We're working on press contacts today, sir.
Happy Independence Day!
And to you as well, Duke!
Maybe aside from his other "works" Ben has been dabbling in cloning and has created himself a "mini-me."
It's kind of weird that mini-me only has 38 posts you'd think he/she would following Bennie to all his other haunts too.
Maybe mini-me usually posts on another board and followed Bennie to DU? Seems like a 13-year-old with puppy love. Maybe mini-me is Spitfire?
This is just a test, to see if I can post a little screenprint where you can click on it and it gets full sized one, like Misty knows how to do, lol.
