Rogers Shoves Cameramen, Throws Camera to Ground in Angry Tirade

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - Texas Rangers pitcher Kenny Rogers shoved two cameramen Wednesday, sending one to the hospital in a videotaped tirade that included throwing a camera to the ground and threatening to break more.

Rogers, who missed his last start with a broken pinkie he sustained during an outburst earlier this month, erupted at the cameramen as they filmed him walking to the field for pregame stretching before Wednesday night's game against the Los Angeles Angels.

Mr. Rogers will not only face a long fine and suspension from MLB headquarters, but likely could face felony assault and battery charges for what he did today. He's certainly a good example of a spoiled brat sports star having a bad hissyfit.

Rangers' Kenny Rogers Suspended 20 Games


NEW YORK - Texas pitcher Kenny Rogers was suspended for 20 games and fined $50,000 by Major League Baseball on Friday for an outburst that sent a television cameraman to the hospital and prompted a police investigation.

The players' union filed an appeal on behalf of Rogers.
