KY on Fox???

Posted on 06/29/2005 8:26:17 AM PDT by Scarchin

Okay - I'm a teacher on vacation and watching Fox news.

It's 11:00 in the morning and an ad comes on for "KY massage and personal lubricant." The husband lights up when the wife says "personal lubricant" and she says it again at the end of the ad and winks. There is a clear sexual tone to the ad.

Is it me or is this out of bounds?

Anyone else see it?

I'm calling FOX and I'll post what happens.

In MA 'pubic-screwl'... they teach kids how to apply it to a zucchini.

See, here is the great tragedy of sex education!!!! What teenage boy can compete with a zucchini??? Sex ed breeds false hopes for teenage girls and self-consciousness for teenage boys! :-)

What about the Mentos commercials?

Oh, don't get me started! There's something utterly insidious about them. They make my skin crawl.

I have to admit I think we're over-inundated with 'strong penis happy penis' ads. But finding out that there is an adult world out there that includes sex is really not news to kids...

I agree, but I don't want watching the US Open to turn into a conversation about the birds and the bees to my six year old.

"I have ALWAYS thought the tampon commercials were embarrasing under ANY circumstances, even in the company of my husband."

I'm with you on this one, texas! I never could see the need for these commercials. Women have needed and used "personal items" for decades. We know what we need and the products we use. We don't need commercials to tell us that. Same with all of the other intimate personal products that have popped up on the market. No need to advertise -- people will buy what they want and need.

Let me see, Fox = Laurie, Kerin, Juliann, ED, and frequent appearances by Ann, Michelle, and Laura....hmmm, personal lubricant works for me...as well as every other guy on this board...seriously, how could anyone be offended by a KY ad when they show tampon commercials, preparation H commercials, stay free mini pad commercials and Massengale douche commercials....more important things to be offended over.

Gee - I thought the one where she used a tampon to plug a leak in the rowboat was funny.

Not to be too "whatever" here, but FYI, women tend to lubricate less as they get older and hormone production changes. At times, they may find sex uncomfortable even while being highly stimulated.

I am going to avoid using any highly funny euphamisms in the interest of being [appearing] adult.

That was the most creative one I've ever seen! I'm wondering how many big redneck guys are starting to stock tampons on their bass boats now just in case that ever happens to them! LOL

the oversexualization of society to the point of saturation is really having an impact on kids. i am forthright and open about sex as well as morals with my kids (11, 13, 16) and am not remotely a prude. but to have the popular culture telling them every single day, all day long, that sex is a joke, sex is funny, sex is fun, everyone DOES IT, is a constant drumbeat that parents have to counteract. i know i am doing my job as well as i can to counteract that, but there are tons of disengaged or self-involved parents out there who are letting the popular culture inform their kids and form their morals. those are my kids peers and that is not a comforting thought.

Oh, just make something up. The more you wring your hands about it, the more questions she will ask. Tell her it's for people with dry-eye or something.

Hey!

My good friend, Bob, told me he found out about Enzyte, and used it for natural male enhancement.

He thus gained a new measure of confidence and respect.

And fell in love with Helen Thomas.
