"This isn't - and never was - part of the War on Terror."
Really?
Again, you forgot about Al-Zarqawi.
You also forgot about Salman Pak.

Ouch! That's not a good place to have hurt yourself as it's hard to give it a rest.

Friends don't let friends believe the MSM and Democrats lies that Iraq had nothing to do with AQ, pre war. In the 90's, the media wrote dozens of articles about the world's alarm at the growing relationship between Saddam and OBL/AQ. Links here:

And never forget that when Clinton signed the Iraqi Liberation Act, all the Democrats were on board and Kerry actually wanted American boots on the ground.

In hiding after the U.S. invasion of Iraq, Saddam Hussein penned a directive warning his followers not to join forces with Islamic jihadists and other foreign fighters seeking to make Iraq their new battlefield, according to a document found with Hussein when he was captured, U.S. government officials said last night.

Well duh! That would be analogous to Jesse James penning a directive from prison to his gang not to be part of the War of Northern Aggresion so it wouldn't reflect on the Southern States. Too late!

You couldn't be more wrong.

The MSM wrote dozens of articles in the 90's about the world's alarm at the growing relationship between Saddam and AQ.

Did you know that the Senate Ingelligence Committee Report stated that Iraqi military was training AQ in WMD bomb making pre 9/11?

Did you know that an Iraqi citizen was present during at least one 9/11 planning meeting?

Did you know the bomber of the first WTC took refuge in Iraq?

That and so much more are here:

Yes you were disrespectful in minimizing the losses of other countries.
You were trying to say that WWII was 'truly' a world war due to multiple countries being involved, and your 'point' was that teh WOT isn't 'a WORLD war'.

Well, it IS a WORLD war.
Or don't you get that yet?

Given Freepers creativity, I am sure we can come up with many desserts for the Just Desserts Cafe.

The John Kerry Special.....three purple plums in a milk sauce.

The Ted Kennedy Special......Rum cake in a pool of Irish Whiskey

You said that Iraq didn't pose a threat.

I guess you did not read the bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee Report which stated they had over 70 different sources which provided information that Iraq intended to hit America or American interests.

And Saddam's working with AQ, as he had for a dozen years, was certainly a threat against the United States.

Did you know that 9/11 families successfully sued Iraq in federal court for Iraq's involvement in 9/11? Link provided on request.

And did you know that Iraq had notice (from OBL) that AQ was going to hit America on 9/11?
Less than two months before 9/11/01, the state-controlled Iraqi newspaper “Al-Nasiriya” carried a column headlined, “American, an Obsession called Osama Bin Ladin.” (July 21, 2001)

In the piece, Baath Party writer Naeem Abd Muhalhal predicted that bin Laden would attack the US “with the seriousness of the Bedouin of the desert about the way he will try to bomb the Pentagon after he destroys the White House.”

The same state-approved column also insisted that bin Laden “will strike America on the arm that is already hurting,” and that the US “will curse the memory of Frank Sinatra every time he hears his songs” – an apparent reference to the Sinatra classic, “New York, New York”.
