I take it you did things you are not proud of! LOL
*Note - I wouldn't go to see RN on my own. My father was acquainted with his manager, through Jody Reynolds, of Endless Sleep - he got me in for free.
Darn good guitarist, no doubt. Hasn't written a good tune in 15 years though!
Didn't Linda sing with the Stony Ponies? (an early eagles band)
Oingo Boingo? I forgot they ever existed. My wife saw them back then too, I believe.
Too late - buy second?
I thin you and MikeinIraq are the young studs of FR. Maybe Asphalt too!
You got your Rush shows mixed up.1996 was the Test For Echo tour and Analog Kid was played on the Counterparts tour which played in St.Pete in 1994. The Test For Echo tour had the 2112 suite, but no Xanadu. Xanadu was played on the Roll The Bones tour however in 1991 and the R:30 Tour in Tampa in 2004.
The next best concerts were Pink Floyd, REM (I saw them about a dozen times before they became to commercialized), the Police (Synchronicity tour in 1983), Eric Clapton, U2, Rolling Stones, and the Eagles.
And yeah, I did A HELL OF A LOT of illicit substances back in my younger days.
well I do turn 25 in August :)
Well God Bless you for your service!!! You tell every wounded warrior you see that Freerepublic loves them and is praying for them, always!
Same here. Still a big fan. I think George Lynch was/is one of the best guitarists in his genre.
You hung out with The Thrill (with his DRacula-like swing)? Cool! He and Robby Thompson were my two favorites from that team.
Young...yeah but depends on perspective. Stud, of course!
You saw Richard Thompson? COOL.
"Red hair and black leather"
Vincents... :-)
Yeah, he sure has a set of pipes!! I mean, the guy's 55 and he's been singing like that for 30 plus years!
Dion? Naa, I prefer DIO...as in Ronnie James Dio! That dude rocks...
1972 Grateful Dead - Nashville free concert Vanderbilt University
Flew with two friends to Nashville from Pell City Alabama using my newly minted pilots license. Had a blowout on landing and had to be towed off the runway. Took a cab to Vanderbilt and watched the Dead in their prime put on an incredible concert...lasted at least 4 hours!
Mid-70s Jethro Tull - University of Alabama two different dates (can't remember exact years)
Jethro Tull is, without a doubt, the best concert band in the history of rock and roll. The best sound, the two best shows I've ever seen. I saw them around 1973?, right after Aqualung was released, and again about a week before Thick as a Brick was released. If I recall correctly, I think we were the first audience to hear Thick as a Brick.
I've seen the Dead 7 times and all were great except the last, about six months before Garcia died. Also saw (not necessarily in order):
Led Zeppelin
Rolling Stones
Leon Russel
Nitty Gritty Dirt Band
Allman Brothers (original band 3 times, including once at the Oporto Armory in Birmingham before they were really big)
Mountain
Willy Nelson
Leo Kottke
Stevie Wonder (incredible show - warm up for Neil Young who sucked!)
Charlie Daniels
Emerson Lake and Palmer
Quite a few more I can't remember at the moment.
Oh...forgot to mention my earlier years:
Herman's Hermits
Grand Funk Railroad
Several more in my early teens...just can't remember the names.
Count me in!
