Many Freepers grew up in what they considered to be the golden age of Rock concerts. Of course, it may have had more to do with the fact that we were young and fanatical about the music in our youth. These days, ol Pissant prefers the Seattle Symphony Orchestra, Military Band music and Jazz, but I have some very fond memories of the craziness of my Rock concert yesteryears. Im quite sure many of you have some concert stories that rival and surpass mine. So this thread is the place to share!
Following are 2 concert experiences that left a permanent scar on me! ;o)

LOL - I don't get to show those off very often.... younger folk say "~who~?" Older folks say "You were into ~that~?"

It feathered all the way back to a seam in the back, lolIf I had known you then, I would have been so jealous. I couldn't get mine to do that.
And how much Aqua Net did you have to use on it? ;-)

Went to see Patty Smith in 1979 at the Aragon ballroom. It was so crowded that we had to stand on our seats to let others pass by. The music from the first band was so loud that we stuffed our ears with lens tissues from a camera bag.
I really don't like crowds so I was feeling a trifle paranoid expecting the worst to happen.
and I kept falling asleep
no I wasn't drunk or on drugs, I had just started to work midnights.

Hot August Nights in Reno in--I think--1987 (1986?)
It was great! A bunch of the old bands: Turtles, Paul Revere, ??? There were also hundreds and hundreds of muscle cars. Cherry muscle cars. They "dragged Main" in parade style--two-by-two. There's nothin' like the feel of the roar of a muscle car--in the pit of your stomach.
I love Reno!!! It's my favorite degenerate town! It's much more fun that Vegas. There's no better place to watch people!

The Smithereens were quite the good show from what my roommate told me back in the 1980s!Did you like the Smithereens? If you did, I may be forced to reevaluate my opinion of you. ;-)

When I show my kids some pics of our concert day (their dad and I) they are speechless

And how much Aqua Net did you have to use on it? ;-) Any more and it'd have made a good helmet.
I'm bummed only that the pictures don't show my boots. I was wearing these great thigh-high shiny black boots with tall heels. I may have taken them off by the time of the pics, they hurt so bad ;~D

Dion still tours. He's at Westbury July 18th. I went to every show he did there up to year before last [most memorable was with Gene Pitney as the opening act]. Still rocks. Occasionally puts out an album. You should hear his accappella version of Springstein's, "If I should Behind"

Two old friends...it was the best concert I ever went to!
Actually: J. Geils Band - 6 times...(all time favorite)
AC/DC and Ted Nugent in '79 (I think)- wildest show...
