This past spring I caught an episode of their show that had to do with recycling. Loved it -- good stuff.

While I don't agree with everything he believes, their show is brilliant, and they do more that I do agree with than stuff I don't agree with.

THey had a great commercial for their show in Vegas last fall. It showed P&T shopping around Vegas.

A stop in a gun store; the clerk asks what he plans on doing with the enormous X-framed S&W? Penn replies, "Shoot him!" pointing at Teller.

Another exchange with a clerk at a Supermarket while buying butcher knives is a hoot.

That and the show on genetically engineered food kinda got me hooked.

To heavily paraphrase (i.e. remove the crude language) - "it's pretty arrogant for a bunch of hippies from the richest nation on the planet to goto third world countries and tell starving people not to eat genetically engineered food".

I kind of fell into this - I wouldn't have gone out of my way to get Showtime, but it was part of an HDTV package.

I was flipping through the channels and came across them mocking some PETA or Sierra Club protesters. It was hilarious.

Which makes me wonder why they are on Showtime - their show doesn't go along with much of what's on there.

I never saw that one, sounds great though. Funny take on that whole thing. I like Chris Rock's observation about third world starving... paraphrasing "You know nobody in Ethiopia is lactose intolerant!"

If you didn't know it, CBS (60 Minutes) is owned by Viacom. Viacom also owns Showtime.

That's reason enough for me not to watch.

I watch Penn and Teller's show on Showtime (and I've seen their show in Vegas) and they are certainly libertarian, not conservative. While it's fun watching them skewer the low-hanging fruit on the left (and right), they do sometimes do little more than create a straw-man and knock it down. They clearly start with an opinion and stack the deck in that opinion's favor. It's pretty easy to tell when they are out on a limb. The shows are certainly thought provoking, though.

Your loss. Their show in LV was great. It included a great piece on the Constitution and the US Flag that closed out their show.

Their BS tv show has run the gamut from College BS to Enviro-whacko-BS to 12-step BS.

The only reason these guys are on cable is because it allows them the freedom to cover every topic they want to any way they want to.

I've seen their Vegas show so I have no need to watch Showtime.
