The Dragon Flies' Lair~Thread XXI~
June 26, 2005 | bentfeather/Poets of the Lair

My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Good evening Ms. Feather. Aeolian Harp is quite lovely! I enjoyed reading it very much.

Alone

In the dark she weeps,
alone in an empty bed,
through nights of bitterness,
wanting more then this.

A pair of strong arms to hold her,
soft but firm lips to kiss her, gently,
knowing hands to caress her sweet,
and bring shared and loving bliss.

Her dreams are often filled with need,
as time slowly echoes within,
and she reaches out in quiet hunger,
only to find a pillow her solace in the night.

Will she find what she desires,
will those nights hold another, and her,
as feelings surpass dreams so intense,
and everything is at last for her, so right?

Treasures in the lair I find
when in night's black cape I've
been bound, in a safe mile of sleep
held soundly in the wings of rest
I laid me down... quite blessed.

Hurricanes in the Gulf
bring much needed rain for my
thirsty lawns and garden
and for this I am selfishly grateful,

even tho, I know
that hurricanes bring disaster
for those in their path, when,
swirling, whirling they slam ashore.

So . . . Miss Emily please be a Lady
when you finally make landfall
and don't be a Tramp
for - Tramps, I abhor.

Good evening Miss Feather . . .I think there is a distinct possibility we'll get some much needed rain out of Emily. Hopefully she won't cause too much damage to the innocent.

Goodnight all!!!

Good evening and good night Hope.

Prayers up for rain and no damage.

Thanks for the timely poem.

*and don't be a Tramp
for - Tramps, I abhor.*

And once more my arbors
hold no store for
your slamming into the shore.

Brooks & Dunn - There Ain't Nothin' 'Bout You

(t.shapiro/r.rutherford)

Once I thought that love was something I could never do
Never knew that I could feel this much
But this yearning in the deep part of my heart for you
Is more than a reaction to your touch
It’s a perfect passion and I can’t get enough

The way you look, the way you laugh,
The way you love with all you have,
There ain’t nothing bout you that don’t do something for me
The way you kiss, the way you cry,
The way you move when you walk by
There’s ain’t nothing bout you (there ain’t nothing bout you)
That don’t do something for me

In my life I’ve been hammered by some heavy blows
That never knocked me off my feet
All you gotta do is smile at me and down I go
And baby it’s no mystery why I surrender
Girl you got everything

The way you look, the way you laugh,
The way you love with all you have,
There ain’t nothing bout you that don’t do something for me
The way you kiss, the way you cry,
The way you move when you walk by
There’s ain’t nothing bout you (there ain’t nothing bout you)
That don’t do something for me

I love your attitude, your rose tattoo, your every thought
Your smile, you lips and girl the list goes on and on and on

The way you look, the way you laugh,
The way you love with all you have,
There ain’t nothing bout you that don’t do something for me
The way you kiss, the way you cry,
The way you move when you walk by
There’s ain’t nothing bout you (there ain’t nothing bout you)
That don’t do something for me

The way you look, the way you laugh,
The way you love with all you have,
Your dance, your drive, you make me feel alive

The way you talk, the way you tease
Right now I think you see
There ain’t nothing bout you that don’t do something for me

Morning!

Not much going on at my end of things, just the 'same old same old'.

In D-sheare 'world' that is usually a bad sign.

Morning Darksheare. Kinda the same here. It's been hot so I have not been doing much out of doors.

Yesterday was humid enough that it wasn't sweat on people but condensation.
That was fairly miserable the way the weather goes, but it was like that only due to the pop-up thunderstorms that moved through.

We have not had rain here for over a week. It is forecast for today and this evening. Also, temps are supposed to go down. I saw the moon last night-- gorgeous it was.

It was still hazy enough here for the moon to be barely visible even at 9 PM last night.
Less muggy out today, but only marginally so.
I hope it does cool off a bit, this is some awful lung hurting weather.
