Did you watch it tonight?

The show was quite good. Ann coulter helped.

But Ann you NEED TO learn more about Ben Franklin. Uncharacteristically, your ignorance was showing!

Um, you can't make Ronald Regan be the Greatest American--only he could do that. He either is, or he isn't. What you can do is to recognize him as the Greatest American.

In my opinion, President Reagan is the greatest President of the 20th Century--and deserves far more recognition than he gets.

It very well may be rigged. I tried to vote for GWB on the AOL site by clicking on his pic. I got a message, "Thank you for casting your vote for Oprah Winfrey."

Another Freeper told me that when she voted for GWB, she got a message thanking her for voting for Elvis Presley.

Nope, sorry, but it should be George Washington.

First in peace
First in the hearts of his countrymen.

While Reagan is my favorite American, my vote for greatest is going to Ben Franklin who I have always admired. He was perhaps the greatest American visionary of all time. I really cant compare anyone to him.

Some of the candidates are laugable. I will be suspicious if Clinton makes the top 5.

Why on earth are you voting for Ben Franklin when we're trying to flood votes for President Reagan and, as an extra bonus, gain some conservative PR?

Strategery is paramount in our battle.

Clinton was #7, behind GWB at 6.

Final 5 are, in no particular order, Roosevelt, Reagan, Lincoln, Washington and MLK Jr.

Damned If I Know

What was the complete ranking of the top 25? Does anyone have the totals? I tried vainly to find that on the discovery site.

I absolutely adore Reagan.

But Franklin, who achieved extraordinary accomplishments in many different fields, and who simultaneously was a diplomat and statesman, was simply AWESOME. He was a generation older than many of the other founding fathers and was the person many of them looked up to, including Washington.

My vote will go to Franklin, absolutely agreed.

However, each of the five candidates, were the right men for the right time. America would NOT be the same without them.

It is more than disgraceful that Clinton was up there with and even surpassed so many other great men. I believe he ended up in the top ten, along with Elvis (who also didn't belong there either), LOL!

I was thinking about this quite a bit today.... after the threads and comments on FR that many a freeper will either vote 3rd party depending on who nominee is against Hillary ( say it were McCain) or sit out and not vote thus assuring a President Hillary, I have no idea how this show could change a vote or mind on anything LOL.

I agree with a prior poster that all of the TOP 5 were the right man at right time and I am sticking to Franklin who gets little or no credit today in terms of what today's youth learns. Give me anything written by Ben over perhaps anyone ever. TIMELESS consistent message : )))

It is pretty sad that Clinton was 7!!!! I really can't think of one accomplishment of this man other then Dont Ask Dont Tell...LOL...( I am using the word accomplishment with super extreme sarcasm)

With the prestige of the top 5 I have to admit that I am surprised that President Bush is number 6 considering he is not finished yet : ))) There is a lot to be said there : )
