A Pueblo man accused of burying his mother's body in a homemade casket is under arrest.
Pueblo County sheriff's deputies say 44-year-old Clark Raymond Williams was arrested on charges of concealing a death, abusing a corpse and trespassing after he was found at a freshly covered grave in Roselawn Cemetery early yesterday.
Deputies say Williams told them his mother died of natural causes a month ago and he had just buried her.
Coroner James Kramer identified the dead woman as 75-year-old Ruth Eileen Williams.
Sheriff's officials say there was no evidence of foul play, but the cause of death is still unknown.
Ruth Williams was the former wife of former Pueblo County Commissioner Charles Williams.

I don't know, assuming the home made box was durable enough can't say that I have a problem with this. Funerals are expensive. If she really did die of natural causes, I almost don't blame the guy. Although he should have buried her up in the hills instead of a public cemetary.

I feel badly for the son. He must have been desperate and maybe didn't know about pauper burials. Of course, he might be mentally ill.

Imagine how ripe she was after a month's time... yikes.
Leaving a dead body lying around doesn't strike me as a mentally sound decision.
