I don't know, assuming the home made box was durable enough can't say that I have a problem with this. Funerals are expensive. If she really did die of natural causes, I almost don't blame the guy. Although he should have buried her up in the hills instead of a public cemetary.

I feel badly for the son. He must have been desperate and maybe didn't know about pauper burials. Of course, he might be mentally ill.

Imagine how ripe she was after a month's time... yikes.

Leaving a dead body lying around doesn't strike me as a mentally sound decision.

Or he might have been trying to conceal her death so those social security checks would keep coming. Happens a lot.
