Some of our most cherished memories in life revolve around sharing a drink with loved ones and friends. A fine bottle of Cabernet with your spouse on your anniversary. A 12 year old scotch with your father. Shots of tequila with the girl you've been after for months. Etc, Etc.
There are certainly people in our history and living today, that I would give my left nu.., er little toe, to share a beer and a long-winded conversation with. The following is off the top of my head, and hundreds more could be included:
LIVING:
3. Bob Dylan - my all time favorite enigmatic musician
2. Donald Rumsfeld - A real man amongst girly men
1. Mark Steyn - perhaps the most insightful, wittiest man on the planet
DEAD
3. Ernest Hemmingway - one of the few writers of fiction I love.
2. Ronald Reagan - The hero of our times
1. Ben Franklin - My alltime favorite historical figure.
Tesla was nuts! He wouldn't talk to you!
I have to disagree with you on that one, We can start a new thread on this though.
It would require its own thread!
Tesla was the most briliant electrical enginer that ever was! But we can start a new thread on this too!
I agree he was brilliant, perhaps the most brilliant. Being an electricla engineer myself, I'm awed. But he was very strange, to say the least!
Living:
Chuck Yeager
Burt Rutan
Laura Ingraham
Dead:
Ronald Reagan
Jack Northrop
Jimmy Stewart
Not any more
That is a cool list. Burt Rutan would be a very cool conversation. I would like to have a table with Burt Rutan, Kelly Johnson(Lockheed), Jack Northrop and Howard Hughes.
That could get interesting. :D
huh, WHAT?
I Love Jimmy Stewart! good choice
We couldn't even spike His beer without Him knowing!
Miss Crowley has a number of virtues which commend her. Her lips are only part of a rather attractive package.
Regards, Ivan
When she was diagnosed with breast cancer he either left her or she left him...the wedding is off.
She is a walking package of female virtues! Agreed.
Living - Charles Barkley, he's just a funny guy that strikes me as fun to hang out with.
Dead - Humphry Bogart, sharing a drink and some smokes with the greatest drinker and smoker in modern history has always been a pipe fream of mine.
REALLY?
She's not getting married?
Disregarding earlier message...
I didn't hear that!
Sorry...
Oh wow! I didn't know that... That stinks. :(
You take Bogie, I'll take Bacall!
