Georgie Patton said B-A-D things about the carbine even as he was praising the M1 Garand to the heavens as the greatest implement of battle ever devised. I think he SPIT when he spoke of the carbine.

I hear ya. I try hard to refrain my own very personal opinion about weaponry, because everybody has a preference. I've heard too many soldiers who had used these things in WW-II and the Korean war who hated them and regarded them as pop guns.

I do know for a fact that there have been semi-auto handguns produced that shoot the .30 Carbine cartridge. I think that says everything that needs to be said about it. :-)

It's a POP GUN.
