Hey,Latina,I am pretty hard to beat on the 1960-1980 pop, soul, disco and R and B period.
I think we all touch a deep chord with the music that was prevalent during our formidable years. Those songs were the orchestrations to our lives and thus will remain entrenched in our conciousnesses forever.

I didn't know there was going to be more shows! Thanks for the ping. I heard an old one the cheerleaders liked to dance to. "you dropped the bomb on me" Haven't heard that one in awhile. :)

Would this classify as obscure?...

A friend of mine and I practically wore this cassette out in 1984.

I'd heard about the freak-out in the bar. He's had a couple weird episodes like that.

sigh... He really DOES look like Groundskeeper Willie these days...

Adam Ant wasn't even a one-hit wonder. He had a hit as recently as 1995 with a crappy song called "Wonderful" or something like that.

NIGHT RANGER is NOT a one-hit wonder!!! Just because radio stations never play anything besides "Sister Christian" anymore doesn't mean it was their only hit! Remember "Don't Tell Me You Love Me?" What about "You Can Still Rock in America" or "When You Close Your Eyes..." They had a couple more than that as well.

OMG!! I am NOT the only one that likes Manowar, apparently! Although that is a hideous picture.

How did the lead singer for the Waitresses die? That's a bummer--I really liked their album.
I heard somewhere it was breast cancer.

I'm thinking of "Don't worry, be happy" and I REALLY wish I weren't

Ahh, the power of suggestion.

I've been unable to get 'Dancing Queen' by ABBA out my head until now...

/sigh>

One Night in Bankok by Murray Head

Wow, that is a blast from the past. Light rock wasn't my thing back then, but I remember that song always getting stuck in my head.

The best pop song of the 80s was "In Your Eyes" off of 1986's "So." Period. Has more staying power than any other hit from that decade, and spawned one of the most memorable movie moments of that era.

I don't know that I'd call "In Your Eyes" a "pop" song... I'm not sure that anything PG's ever done really qualifies as "pop."

But it is an amazing song, and it seems to be even more popular today than when it was released... Damn! Is "So" nearly 20 years old? It was one of the first CDs I bought (back then, I listened to LPs!)
