wasn't his song, "Never Surrender" a hit? You might be confusing this with "Never Surrender" by the band Triumph. Like most of the stuff from their 1982 album of the same name, awesome.

Thanks for the ping, jonny.
One Band To Be Determined-- These guys got back together? They were great!
That is a great band name, though. :-)
I like my cool name for a band better, though-- Seven on Wednesday. What do you think?

even their second album had a couple of good songs--including my favorite, "Overkill." they sounded terrible in concert... very disappointing... Have you heard the acoustic version by Colin Hay?

But he was somethin' back in 1982, made this 14-year-old teeny bopper all swoony... Ahh, the mystery of the ages.

"Drop that zero and get with the hero". Worst movie line. Ever.

The best pop song of the 80s was "In Your Eyes" off of 1986's "So." Period. Has more staying power than any other hit from that decade, and spawned one of the most memorable movie moments of that era.

I heard Rock the Casbah today on my local 80's rock station. Ah, memories.

Freedom,All Night Thing was by The Invisible Man's Band from Spring,1980. Michael Henderson did Wide Receiver as well as doing a great rendition of the Dramatic's hit,Be My Girl. yes, you are right... Fatback Band did "Gotta Get My Hands on Some (Money)."

My favorite 80's expression came from SNL..."YOu look mahvelous!"
To: HolgerDansk
You might be confusing this with "Never Surrender" by the band Triumph. no--Corey Hart did do a song called, "Never Surrender." i looked it up... plus i can still recall the video...
To: Troublemaker
Hey, you remembered it. That makes it an awesome line. And you remembered it because of Ice's awesome acting!

Unfortunately Big Country can't reunite. Stuart Adamson (lead singer/guitar/songwriter) commited suicide a couple of years ago. I actually really liked them. If you ever get a chance pick up their greatest hits. Just a Shadow and Where the Rose is Sown are really great songs.

And run to ground our heathen foe
Our name will never die
This time will be forever

You can download "Overkill (acoustic) by Colin Hay"
here.
It's excellent. He did it for the NBC TV Show "Scrubs," I think, at least that's when I first heard it! Colin has an amazing and unique voice.

I attended that tour at its Memphis stop. It was the PRIVATE EYES tour for Hall & Oates, right? no--it was Big Bam Boom... Private Eyes was back in 80-81 i think... H20 was in '83... the last Hall and Oates concert i attended was in 1988... and it was really good... they played their songs, plus some Sly and The Family Stone...
