Here I am, with my 2001 iPod, with the original battery that's still going strong - and it's used every day.

This issue was way overblown.

I bought the original ipod.

After flying off my car at 30 MPH (after I left it on the car roof), it smashed into a few pieces . I retrieved the thing and pieced it back together and it's still going strong.

The scroll wheel is wobbly and the back silver plate is kind of loose, but my ipod is still rockin'.

I got my iPod Christmas 2001, and the battery never did last more that 4 hours. I've never had any other problems with it, though.
