The California State Assembly has just approved AB996. It will now go to the Senate.
This bill, dubbed "Safe Ammunition Storage Legislation" would require retailers to lock up their ammunition in the same manner that firearms are required to be locked up at California firearm retail locations. The Democratic Caucus claims "It is estimated that 8-10 billion bullets were sold in the United States in 2002. Many of those bullets were purchased by those who acquired their guns illegally using straw buyers, those who stole guns, and those who purchased on the secondary market." Of course we don't really know what constitutes "many" bullets. And they offer no direct proof that ammunition was purchased by those who "acquired their guns illegally."

Bullets alone as ya know don't hurt anyone unless properly assembled with brass, powder and primer. Only then can they be a problem "if" ya have a firearm to use em in...... I hope the actual text of the law says "bullets" vs ammunition.......lock up a bunch of inert weight . But in Kali that's all of their polidiots isn't it ?:o)
Corbin Bullet swages......great little tool to have on hand. Makes great .224 jacketed bullets from old .22 rimfire brass. Kewl Tewl.....
Here in Montana I went into the local Checkers auto supply and found shotgun shells on sale at the checkout counter. They had cases of them stacked up. Over in Troy the Radio Shack sells guns. I am so glad to live in a free state! I'm not even sure I'd go back to California to visit. The place is a legal booby-trap.

lolol
Go ahead and control bullets. I load my guns with ammunition, or rounds, not "bullets".

Yer Welcome.......Stay Safe !
You swage jackets?! I need to get with you off-line. I'll drop a note later. :-)
Since our idiot Governor Arnold signed in AB50, which banned 50 caliber gun sales the 1st of this year, the jerk will probably sign this one in too. I am not voting for that guy again. They are trying to do everything they can to make it a hassle to be a gun owner in this state.
bump
Thanks for the heads up and bump;-)
It never ceases to amaze me what these morons waste their time doing. The state is over run with illegals, hospitals are closing, roads are in carppy condition....and they pass laws about how a store deals with ammo? Thay are beyond retarded.
ROTF!
