The Hobbit Hole XXII - ...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

What's happening with you today?
To: HairOfTheDog
I'm at work, unfortunately.
It's busy and I've got plenty of work, but with all this crap going on with my grandfather, it's hard to concentrate.
It really helps to hang out in here to clear my head, then process a payroll, come back in here, process another payroll, etc.
My dad and uncle came down from Chicago last week and my dad is flying back tomorrow. My uncle is staying through the end of the week.
I haven't slept in my own bed since last Wednesday! *sigh*
Everything is off-kilter right now and it's leaves me drained. I crave normal and boring, ya know?
Too much drama just burns me out.

Sorry about all that Ruthy....
I hope everything gets boring for you real soon. :~D
I just can't wake up this morning.... I was restless last night.
To: RMDupree
Oh, dear...
I'll keep you in my prayers, Ruthy. Try not to get too stressed.

Prayers for boredom, Ruthy! ;-)
Not to be too facetious...but you know what I mean.

I'm not. But I do appreciate the prayers.
"This too shall pass" has become my mantra.
I think we should all have more coffee...

If you drink all that coffee, you'll be the one in the hospital.

My mom started me on cafe con leche when I was 2 years old. Served it to me in a bottle to get me up early in the morning.
Caffeine is as much a part of my bloodstream as iron. :-D
NOTE: My mom gave "inexperience" a whole new meaning. She once poured gasoline over my head to kill lice. It's a wonder I survived to adulthood!

Eeep...
My mother experimented on me with a lot of things but she never was that... um.... stupid? I, on the other hand, am going to be the world's most experienced first time mother.

I thought you drank tea! Rosie consumes coffee by the quart, I think.
I think she gives it to Tam-kitty, too. That would explain a lot.

I like coffee, it just does not like me sometimes. Besides that one looks like it could be hot chocolate under there.

Which means...I know better than to give him caffeine.
Danger! Danger, Will Robinson!

It's her upbringing. She really believes in home remedies.
Sometimes to the point of ignoring common sense, I'll admit.
She means well, but I've already told her that I'll handle my kids infirmities, thank you very much. *grin*
