The Hobbit Hole XXII - ...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I think that HAS to be against neighborhood ordinances.
Mebbe I'm wrong, though.

I-80 has no tunnels in Pennsylvania.
The PA Turnpike has three between Philly and Pittsburgh, as I recall.

It could camouflage itself by hanging out in the middle of the flock of chickens, right?

Lots of ranchers down here think that raising exotic animals will be a way for them to make some money... so it's not unsual to be driving past a fence and see a passel of emus, or alpacas, or some goofy animal.

I think the flamingos all use Somebody Else's Problem generators so we can't see them.

Heh heh!! We've never gone completely hungry, but provender's been mighty thin at times! As a result, even though times are near so stringent, I am constantly trying to plan ahead what we're going to eat! LOL
I can tell you, someday my freezer will practically bulge. I'm gonna do that "Cook for a day eat for a month" thing every day for a solid month!

Indiana's not high on my place of "Gee, I'd like to live there" myself. I may have been born there but I don't remember it.
