The Hobbit Hole XXII - ...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

Posted on 06/01/2005 7:12:04 PM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Castle Stormhands!

Hey, for that amount of money, you might could even build a moat and fill it with pirahnas and such.

Good morning!

Chunkstyle 1 and 2 are cozy as can be on the porch in the nice dry tote...we're just getting done with a really nice little rain.

Not this weekend, or next weekend, but the next is P-Day for the meat birds.

I thought it was a good movie - not just a good "Batman" movie, a good movie. I really liked it.

Heh! Well, it's only two...wouldn't probably go very far.

Let me get good at it.

We're going to the feed store and asking about getting four more. Four will be the dizzy limit, though and they don't sell 'em like that unless you go to the actual hatchery like I did during ShootMoot.

I'm going to ask if I can go in on an order is someone else wants to order, or do they know of someone I can order with.

I'm considering smoking one, and fixing one of the rotisserie.

We watched a show on Grand Canyon rafting tours, and I didn't realize it was such a long trip... some of them were taking a couple weeks! Is that what you had in mind? Looked great, but caution, reservations are made YEARS in advance.

River Concessioners

I checked out the Hatch site, and their 7-day trip costs $1850. They also have a 4-day trip for $925, but you have to either hike in or out at the midpoint.
