The Hobbit Hole XXII - ...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I don't use Outlook, but there ought to be an Import option (under Tools, maybe?) where you'll select the archive and it will import it for you.

There is an import option at 'File'.

I've never used it though.

At the top of the screen - the "File" Menu - then click on Import. I'd guess you have to browse to the archive.

Well, I'd only be slightly more helpful if I was there and could see it.

I'm a driver, not a mechanic, Jim.

I think for archive files, you CAN just go to File / Open and click on Outlook Data File. That's for the full version of Outlook, though. Is this Outlook, or Outlook Express? Should say on the splash screen when you open the program, if you're unsure.

You're right... I went through the options given in the menus, and it's an import and conversion tool to bring in data from sources other than Outlook.

There is an option "File-Open-Personal folders file (.pst)" That opens a browse window.... can you find your stuff that way?

I really wish I had a clue how to import stuff to Outlook, I've never tried. I've exported stuff to do mail merge type things.... but never tried to move address books to a new machine.

Wait... I'm wrong...

PST files are Outlook files... Highlight the one I have highlighted above, then in the second step either this choice or the one above it.

That opens to a browse window to find it on the other disk.

not really... Does not do a lot.

Photoshop Elements on the hand would do the trick.
