The Hobbit Hole XXII - ...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I have used those cover ones and they moved around some much I hated it. That was after I was use to my nice gell seat though so maybe that was why.

They have some 70oz ones for about 35 bucks now too.

Okay, now I'm REALLY feeling lazy. I have decided to spend the day catching up on reading my bicycling magazines rather than actually doing any riding. Yikes!

Heh...and we've all been hanging out discussing riding all day! ;-)

It's maybe not as fun as actually riding, but it's a lot of fun.

Is that one that has cargo space? The thirty five dollar one?

I had a really basic Camelback at one point - just the reservoir and an insulated pouch that it went into - had thin backpack straps that were barely OK. And then I had a pack that held the same size reservoir but had a buncha pockets on it...enough room for a few basic bike tools, couple of Power Bars, that sorta stuff. Not a lot, but enough for anything but a really long ride. I'd like something like the second one eventually.

I've had zackly one ride-- one mile-- from the K-mart to the apt. with the seatcover. Seemed nice. Perhaps it will become less so, or I will develop the butt-calluses required to sit on the OEM seats in relative comfort :)

I'll just need the bladder.... putting it inside my backpack seems like the best idea. Shall have to take a look, later.

Meh, still too hot to go outside. Unless one is getting into the air-conditioned splendor of a car. I think it's gotten hotter since I came home...

Nicely hot here. I wanted to go to the pool after bringing the bikes home.

Somebody did some business in it, and it's closed until tomorrow. Feh.

She was really tickled with the gift of eggs and I told her our hens were pets and well-treated.

I'm sure that raised you very high in her estimation. As for Birkenstock wearers; watch it, gal, those are about the only shoes I can wear for my back not to hurt after a long time on them! ;o) I ALWAYS look for them on sale. Don't think I've ever paid 'retail' for them.

Heh.... nevermind....

Actually I'm browsing around the forum and not finding anything of interest anywhere. If there's something of interest, it's going unsaid.
