The Hobbit Hole XXII - ...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

It's nitro, I figured if you put the balm on it and hucked it, it might 'plode.

Just to be safe, I'd better huck it a long, long way.

Heh...

It's the same stuff that people in the olden days who had heart trouble would clutch their chest and call for..."My pills! My pills!" Except it's in paste form. The pills are dissolved under the tongue, absorbing through the membranes of the mouth. The paste is absorbed through the skin, vey quickly but over a more sustained period of time.

It's a vasodilator and permits more oxygen to the muscles of the heart, decreasing chest pain. It also can give you quite the head rush...dilates all the vessels in your head! Whoa!

It's a wonder the guy with the heart cream all over his butt didn't have a splitting headache.

Heh. I'm waiting for Steve to get home before taking mine. Even though it's only 4 ounces, I wouldn't want to drive with it in me...and if something happened where I needed to drive, well...I want to be able to.

Very wise of you! You know, I'll bet your responsible drinking is making an impression on the boys. Even though you tell them it's for medicine, you still take all the precautions you'd want them to take if, when they're grown up, they want to have a drink...

Last night when I went out with friends, they were driving so I had two margaritas with dinner and they hit me reaaally hard. It's a good thing my parents taught me to be careful of where and with who I drink, even when I'm not planning to have much.

Oh, I think it just started storming here.

I think they said it reached it's destination safely but I don't think they've exploded it yet. I was hoping to see the video.

And no doubt would have all interviewed the one eye-witness who would likely remark "yup, she blowed up real good" and then grin into the camera.

I don't believe I've ever had even one alcoholic drink and then driven. Ever. Steve and I took turns driving, usually it was my turn. LOL!

One time I was driving and the cops pulled me over because I was driving Steve's car and his tags were expired. Steve started arguing with the cop, because I was trying to do the right thing by not letting him drive drunk.

I turned to Steve and shouted "SHUT UP!" (I don't like those words and rarely say them.)

heh heh...

You have to remember that Steve and I both quit drinking completely after our first year of marriage...so when I talk about all the times we drank together, it was between 13-17 years ago.

I guess not Osage, much as I would like to. I'm considering putting together a crossbow - have a friend who is a metalworking teacher who might help a little, once I figure out what needs to be done.

Hehehe...

I have occasionally had one drink with a big dinner and then driven after an hour or so. I plan ahead so I'll be all right... and I don't usually go out and drink! Maybe twice a month, with friends over dinner.

Fortunately my friends think it's funny that I'm such a lightweight in the drinking department, and also have gotten over their youhtful bad habits so when it's their turn to drive, they are very careful about alcohol themselves. Like I said, my parents made it clear to me that there's a responsibility they expected me to live up to. I remember Mom once told me, when I was about 19 and spent time out with friends a bit, that if I was ever in a situation where I'd had a drink that I was to call her to come get me. And she wouldn't yell at me until the next day, either. Of course I never betrayed that trust either.
