New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
Oh yeah? hmmmm

What more do you need?
You know, when I was a nurse, I had a speciality...my patients loved it.
I'd help them with their bath, you know...at the bedside. Then I'd pour them a foot soak and let them soak their feet in warm soapy water while I changed their beds!
Elderly people would sit there wrapped in a blanket, soaking their feet, wiggling their toes and feeling a bit pampered.
It was my speciality....no one else did it.
:-)
I bet that had multiple benefits.
Yer a sweetheart, you know.
Just tryin' to make sure all the options are provided...

Insert Stormhands crisis of your choice ~here~.

I'm okay. Nothing some cholesterol medicine and a nap wouldn't help.
Heh...well, I know they appreciated it.
I think thenugget appreciated the little extra effort...on some level.
;-)
Just don't get too attached to thenuggets. (speaking from experience here....)
Um.... how 'bout I just wait in the sci-fi section until they open the store up again?
Hey speaking of great reads - picked up a Janet Evanovich 'Stephanie Plumb' book out of total boredom and was absolutely blown away. Hilarious stuff! (a little raunch/foul-mouthed urban-New Jersey stuff, but hey) I plan to read the entire series now.
I know...my attitude is that I treat these animals the very best I can, with the understanding that they are to be eaten, then when I'm eating them, I can be proud of where they came from and that for their brief lives, they had it vey vey good.
The problem with this poopy backside situation is that it can progress and cause real problems, like obstruction. I've known about it, but none of my hens ever experienced it. I don't know if this would have progressed, but I just figured it was unsightly anyway. Most of the time if you clear it away, the problem doesn't come back.
Someone bought that book for my mom when she was diagnosed with Cancer. As a gift! She thought it was the weirdest present ever, and we still have it!
I can't imagine buying that book for me, much less someone else who was ill.
Good... grief, how could someone be so stupid?
I'd be more nervous giving that book as a gift than I would a bottle of Scope.
People will always surprise me! :~D
My luck, I'd give it as a gag, then the recipient would wind up murdered.
Then Aunt Jessica "Stormhands" would have me put away...
Was it PT Barnum who said you'll never go broke overestimating peoples' stupidity?
LOL!
Might have been!
Didn't he also say "there's a DU-er born every minute?"
