Heh...somehow that's a little frightening. "I like Ralph Fiennes! He'll be PERFECT for playing the-most-evil-wizard-who-ever-lived!" ;-)
He did a good job! So did pretty much the whole cast, for that matter, though I didn't think Linton Heathcliff was shown as he was in the book. In the book, you come to despise him for being such a selfish little girlyman...
I rather hope Jen wants to see this. I think on a second viewing, knowing what to expect, I'll enjoy it more. But there are elements that bother me. I don't remember Heathcliff ever pressuring Cathy to leave Linton after they were married. He just took every opportunity to put Linton down, and to sneer at even her. It wasn't a major part of the plot of the movie, and I dunno if he even said it in as many words...but it just seemed less true to the morals of the people of society at that time and place.

It has been over 30 years since I read the book or saw a movie version of it. I'll have to check it out of the library, then get one of the versions from Netflix.

Looks like a much darker interpretation, and I just don't think that's a good thing with that story. It'd be sorta like a Tim Burton interpretation of The Sound of Music. Ever read the book? It's much darker than that silly movie. Vey dark. Roald Dahl had a strange sense of humor. I think the remake looks like it's going to be much truer to the book, and I'm loooking forward to it.
Also Johnny Depp is a better choice for Wonka than Gene Wilder was. Wonka has a rather... sick, almost sadistic streak.

Big'ol had the backyard fence installed yesterday so the pups finally have a place to go run off their energy (something that cattle dogs *must* do.....) and I have started painting the living room.
Corin, speaking of the shoooooooooes. I saw a shoe of power laying by the road (onramp to I-95). I was tempted but decided I would not pick up a shoe of power, not even if I saw it laying by the side of the road.

Sis...we have hugh June Bugs here! Like an inch long, with long furry antenna and they buzz at you when you pick them up! They're the coolest things, night before last I got one for Joshua. He played with it all day yesterday, but last evening when I was putting thenuggets back in their tote on the porch, the June bug flew out the open door.
So I told Joshua...don't worry, I bet I can get another one.
Well, I ended up getting SIX! He's thrilled.
We're gonna tie thread to one's leg and let it fly around in the house.

We're going to try to take pics soon. Prolly not till I finish painting, tho. So maybe this weekend.
It's a wood fence with horizontal slats and cross slats near the top.

Sounds nice!
I just love fences! Not so much because of what they keep out...although that's part of it. They keep out critters that might get my livestock. They keep my livestock in. They keep my food from wandering off. They designate what is mine.
I like all kinds. Privacy, chainlink, picket, barbed wire, electric, pipe, hog panel.
I like 'em!
