The Hobbit Hole XXII - ...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I want the search committee folks to call me. Now. Instantly.
And maybe skip the whole interview ordeal.
But life isn't quite that easy. ;-)
Catching #7 home, do you think? It's close to ninety out there...

Oh well, done with DemonLady for another day. Must remember to turn my cell phone off before her class starts or she'll find something wrong with the computers.

He is a medic, but because of where he is going and the composition of his company, he will have to double up (triple up?) as Medic/MP/infantry.In that case, he also needs the seatbelt cutter, restraints cutter, and a Camillus sheath knife. Also known as the "Hobbit Hole full house". Fortunately, we're prepared, and I'll mail them to you ASAP.

My son is a northern boy.;^)Oh, honey, is HE in for a shock! It'll be 90-100 most days with humidity in the 70's and up, and that's without rain!
I imagine the barracks and mess halls have A/C nowadays, but that won't help with early morning PT and moving around camp doing normal duties. But it will certainly get him used to the heat in Kuwait! Tell him good luck, and don't scare the girls in H'burg too much when he goes up there with his fellow soldiers.
When I was in high school, and the National Guard had their guys come through during the summer on their two week annual required training, we called them the Nasty Guards because they'd ride around yelling out from their cars at the girls they'd see walking down the street, or in parking lots. ;o)

Hmmm. He complains when it's over 80 here.:)
Well, he made it through the summer in San Antonio last year (AIT) so I'm sure he'll tough it out.:)

We'll see. An egg once a month might be worth it...I'll let Steve decide.

Put an empty egg carton in front of her and tell her to fill it up.
To: JenB; Overtaxed; RosieCotton
And egg once a month might NOT be worth it, I mean.

LOL!
If she lays one or two eggs before P-Day, it might not be worthwhile feeding her. She really is aggressive.
