The Hobbit Hole XXII - ...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

As long as they don't make me want to snack all day.

If I eat breakfast, I'm starving by ten. If I don't, I can wait until I feel like having lunch. So it works better for me.
Sigh.... just waiting for the dread Evil One to show up. I'll be bearing the full brunt of her rage for the first hour at least...

I still have my shell necklace hanging from my rearview mirror in my car! I have a candy dish with sea shells from EntMoot, the shell necklace from WeddingMoot, and .22 shells (casings? whatever) from ShootMoot....so there!

Heh.... Thats a good collection to have. We'll have to get you some Mt St Helens ash to take home from WA mini moot.
What will we bring home from CO moot, I wonder?
To: HairOfTheDog
I'll find something.....pebbles or something.
I'm just glad I didn't bring sand fleas from Entmoot. :)

Well...another pile o' papers turned in. Now I wait. On the bright side, it was a LOT less work than that durn background check form.
I'm a little nervous, though, because the human resources office was getting new carpeting put in or some such thing, and they were operating from a conference room. My file went into a rolling file container rather than an in-basket or a real file cabinet. I'm sure that's probably OK, but it still made me a little afraid it'd get lost.
It's hot out.

Yeah...took 6 home, which may have been a mistake. Seemed like an awfully long ride. But the driver was nice.
And the ride on 7 was very pretty. Noticed I went right by where I'd work if I get lucky...so in the winter, at least, that'd be a nice option!

Very funny... ;-)
No, it was a cart thing.
Now you have me imagining something like a hamster ball with a file drawer in it.

OK - round files on a cart ;~D

I'm just givin' you a hard time.

and he also appreciated the scissors, which every medic needs; he didn't have a pair of his own and now won't have to "borrow".You didn't mention he was a medic. If there's still time, we'll send him a Camillus seatbelt cutter, too. Also works well for cutting the plastic restraints off of prisoners without hurting their widdle selves.

Oh dear...
Don't add stress to my life!
Heh...they weren't round like that, though...no.
I sure hope this job is hired for more quickly than the last one! Even if I don't get it, at least I won't have to ride the emotional rollercoaster I did with the last one I thought I'd maybe get...
*sigh*
Meantime, I need to pick up applications from the bookstore and maybe a few other nearby interesting places like EMS.

He is a medic, but because of where he is going and the composition of his company, he will have to double up (triple up?) as Medic/MP/infantry.
He leaves Aug. 17th for Mississippi.

He'll be at Camp Shelby. I don't even know yet exactly where it is.:)
From there he'll be going to Kuwait.
This all just came up within the last two weeks, when his unit was activated.
