Besides, it's an accomplishment just to get on the bike in the first place! Hope you have a good ride!
By the way, I may be rather late to our chat-view tomorrow. I've decided to extend the ride tomorrow by riding to and from the event, so depending on whether I leave early enough and how fast I ride tomorrow, I may not make it until late. Hopefully I can at least make it home in time for part of it!
Hopefully you'll pick up a tail wind on the way home. :)
Whew! Got here. Made one little detour that added a quarter mile or so (uphill, urgh) but got here in one piece. Walked across two intersections, the reset of the time I acted like traffic. One light refused to give a pedestrian signal in my direction so I got to stand for a while, and the bike lock misbehaved, so I'm estimating maybe 25 minutes bike travel. Not too shaby, what with stopping and stuff that's close to 10 mph.
It was fun, too! Except for my bum. Ouch.

That would be wonderful. Unfortunately, I'll be heading pretty much due West, so that would be highly unlikely. I think I'll be thrilled if I just don't have any wind at all on the way home!

And it was a really pleasant ride, nice morning breezes. Only took about 12 minutes more than the optimal drive-park combo and five minutes more than the bus, so it's definitely an alternative I can get with.
Oh, there was one hill that was quite steep, for here, and curvy that I had to walk partway up, but I'll get it.

Just got in from taking Joshua to VBS and stopped off by the liquor store for some more cholesterol medicine. Jen kept talking about chiraz and it's 2nd on the list of wines with the cholesterol-lowering agents...so I got a bottle of chiraz. I've never been real fond of the zinfandel and have to practically choke it down. If the chiraz is just slightly more palatable, I'll be appreciative.
Actually, it's syrah that is second on the list, but I guess they're the same thing? One's made in Kalifornia and the other in Australia?
I'm pretty sure Shiraz and Syrah are the same thing. Petite Syrah is not, though. You can get some very cheap, very decent Aussie Shirazs. Little Penguin is good... also the one with the kangaroo and there's another with a diamond label that are also yummy. Those are all in the $6.50 range where I shop.
I got one called Redbud. The woman checking me out spoke very highly of it. $6.88. About 33 cents more expensive than my zin. That's ok.
It's 2002 and 14.5% alc. That's more than my Woodbridge Zin. The alcohol frees up the sapponins and that's what lowers cholesterol. So although this is second place as far as amount of sapponins, perhaps the slightly higher alcohol will make it a draw?

My goal starting out is to bike to work at least three times a week. If I do a little more casual biking, I can easily do 25 miles a week. Eventually I might try for 30+.
Of course, if the weather's nice, no reason not to bike every day... bet it's easier to go uphill when I lose weight too.

I went to apply for that job, and first of all, they said I couldn't unless I was registered in the county workforce database. I had to spend a whole bunch of time filling in an on-line form that duplicated everything in my resume and other paperwork...it was incredibly long and rather redundant in places. I finally finished and explained which job I wanted to apply for...and it turns out it's actually at the veterinary teaching school at CSU, but they're requiring people to go through the county office. I have to fill out ANOTHER form, take that to campus, and take an employee exam there. Which will almost certainly come to nothing - I've applied for about five jobs at CSU and I believe my applications are going straight into the wastebasket. I'm still going to do it, I think, though my hopes aren't high.
I thought about taking a bus to campus and doing that right off, but while I was waiting, I got the call about the other job. No, they didn't pick the other applicant, which I guess is small comfort. Instead, they decided another worker wasn't in their new budget...so they canceled the search. Not hiring.
And I didn't think it'd be a good idea to show up at CSU bawling.
I don't care much for shiraz, or syrah, or whatever. We may not like the zin, either, but we're gonna give it a try. ;o)

Liked that letter you sent to the realtor. Just remember, you are NOT OBLIGATED to use him, even though he is the husband of someone you know. If he brings you some ideas for properties, great, but if you find one on your own, you can go directly to that realtor, if for some reason, your friend's husband can't help you with that listing for whatever reason.
BTW, having recommendations from your job at the other college can only help with a job at CSU!
