The Hobbit Hole XXII - ...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I'll bet!
And anyone who feels like staying longer can come roam Fort Collins...

Eh - you never know.... flying might turn out to be a lot cheaper than driving and distance doesn't matter. In advance, you can fly near anywhere for $150.
Keep reading though, you'll be meeting us somewhere in Colorado.

How far is it from Denver?

I think it's right in Denver but I've never gone... I'll investigate, but at the very least it's not far.

Or did you mean Fort Collins? Thought we were still on Six Flags... FoCo is about an hour away, in good traffic.

I meant Fort Collins. ;-)
I was wondering because I could always stop by and visit my old manager in ADP's Aurora office if time permitted.

Hey, you ever have anyone just knock on your door out of the blue since you've been there? a few have ventured down thelane... never made it as far as the porch... most turn back... one truck (hunters/trespassers/poachers) I put a round over the hood... the others were met at the top of the drive, on my terms...

Aurora is a south Denver suburb... FoCo is north... wherever we're staying will be west.

How about Paradise Lodge? I mean... if'n ya wants mountains... :-) Sounds good to me, but Corin doesn't like mountains that might explode.

Evening All - getting windy and connection iffy; Colorado is great state, been there many times.
For a good campground, If you head north out of Steamboat, toward Hahn's Peak, you'll see Clark. Turn NE along the Elk River till the road ends (or did). USFS Seedhouse Guard Station and Campground. Summer of 1969. Sigh.
To: JenB
hmmm...
Well, it isn't all that important to visit him anyway. Just thought it would be nice to do if it were somewhere "on the way".

Traverse City includes The Great Wolf Lodge, a large indoor waterpark resort (good year-round).
The CR has ideas that range from the Muskegon area right up to the Big Bridge and Mackinac Island.
