That was my question hon!
Wasn't the castle somewhere in the $2,000-2,500 range?
But I posted it first.
Might have been.... and a deposit of that much too.... which they were pretty good about giving back.
Those are both gorgeous.
I'm going some mental calculations, so tell me what you think.
Let's suppose that most folks can afford $200 (at the most) per individual/family to contribute towards the rental.
We can guesstimate that at least 15 people will contribute, which put us at $3000.00.
That means we can budget any vacation rental for 5 nights so long as the per night rate does not exceed $600.00, including contributions towards the refundable deposit.
Does that seem fair/right?
With tax Coulter Castle was just over $4,000......I'm pretty sure.
It's a good starting reference.... I think $200 for five days is cheap.
Florida moot was really quite a bargain for a week.
I think that includes the deposit.
That sounds good.
That's what I'm thinking.
I just don't want anyone to say they couldn't make it just because it's too expensive. I can swing the $200.00, since it leaves room for airfare in my budget.
I'll keep looking but I think that's doable. We need to make sure we'll have those 15-ish people...
I'll look into properties and select some likely candidates.
What do you do, drive by here and make sure I'm not on line and then go back home and write a reply?
P.S. The only thing that scares me is Hillary Clinton.
The only caveat I would have about CO is opportunity for day trips.... With Florida moot, the attraction of day trips like Disney or Kennedy were good.... I'm not sure those mountain cabins offer much to do if you aren't in the shape to hike ;~D (I bet there are horse trails around ;~D)
Now... the best times were just sitting around on the porch, so maybe we don't care, but Kennedy and other things nearby was neat to have.
Depending on the place, there'll be more than that. I know that, for instance, in Estes Park you can rent horses and go horsing... some places may have shooting ranges... and if it's an hour or two from Denver, we can trip down there. They've got ball games and a Six Flags, I think, botanical gardens, a zoo, museums and the Tattered Cover.
OK - those are good considerations to keep in mind in your hunting!
Heh.... It looks like they are settling on CO.
I would like to do an Alaska cruise sometime though.... Maybe that will be 2007 moot.
~remembers that for future reference~ ;~D
Alaska cruise.... and Kenya... other than that I don't want to go anywhere.
