The Hobbit Hole XXII - ...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I've got a July 2006 calendar here.

I can do anytime after the 4th of July through the 30th.

We don't have anybody else that owns their own compound, do we?
I mean, Dogwood Ridge was pretty much the only shot of stayin' at someone's house?

Um... yeah, but the land sharks are just vicious that time of year.

Yeah - I think it's rentals no matter what...
We fit a lot of people in here for wedding moot, but it wasn't fancy ;~D
To: Corin Stormhands
We can fit maybe, like, three people on the living room floor... one in the bathtub.... one under the table. The rest would have to pitch a tent in the parking lot.

Aspen would be absolutely, absolutely lovely. I'd love to go.
But it's about a five hour drive from Denver.

I don't think we should limit it to Aspen. Places like Snowmass or some of the other areas might be less pricey.
I think we have to assign Jen and Rosie to do research, since they'll be our hosts.

The above Aspen home is $651/night in July so for six nights that would be $3,906 + tax.

Vale would be drivable, as would Winter Park. Estes Park is lovely but it's a summer place so it might be more expensive.
We'll research, never fear! Might have to make some trips in person - oh, the sacrifices I'm prepared to make for my friends...

The website I linked to has a bunch of Colorado towns to choose from.

To: JenB
Drivable from Denver is probably a good idea. Best for airline connections.
(apparently the server reboot is just internal and I still have net access)

I don't even remember what Coulter Castle was.... as a reference.
