The Hobbit Hole XXII - ...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I've been holding off going to the doctor, cause this does seem to be healing up. That and the fact that I literally haven't had a window of opportunity to get there.

Are these states we've actually stayed in or just passed through on our way somewhere else?

Heh, I was going to suggest AK to you! :) That's the place to go to avoid the heat/humidity in the summertime!

2008 gives us time to have the 2007 moot somewhere out east... Amon Nar should be ready for Patriot Moot about that time!

Timing will be my most significant challenge. But here's my limitations.
If it's not summer or drivable, then it'll just be me.
Early winter might be difficult for me, as I'm hoping (praying, begging, pleading) that I'll be changing jobs in January.
I'm only bringing those up because it's all about me.

Hey - I'm game for Alaska... An Alaska cruise especially.

1) decide a date range 2) decide what kind of place we want At this moment in my life, it's tricky for me to get any time off except during the summer. The breaks are all scheduled by the school, and I'm expected to work over Thanksgiving and spring breaks. I get about three weeks over Christmas but that's not going to be popular with anyone.
However, during the period from mid-May to early August, I can be pretty flexible. That's assuming that I'm in the same place a year from now that I am now, an assumption that I have no particular reason to question.

Does PatriotMoot include a secret AniMoot component in the basement?

Yeah, we don't wanna try Virginia in 2007. That's the 400th Anniversary Celebration of Jamestown.
This place will be a zoo.

That's 3 of us, think we can talk the rest of the gang into it?
To: JenB
Summer works for me (and the clan) if it's July. June and August are tricky.
I could do late August, and maybe the Mrs. and Luke, but Jr. would be out 'cause of football.

The pictures my mom brought back from the cruise she took last year were gorgeous. Ice so blue it hurts your eyes!
Remember? She was cruising while I was at WeddingMoot. :-D
But it does get cold and windy on those ships.
A Caribbean cruise it's NOT.
