The Hobbit Hole XXII - ...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Mornin'.
Well, at least you've got extra time to spend with the Mrs! :-D
I was looking at vacation properties online for ideas for the next moot.
Montana is pretty, but I don't know if it's doable for everyone.

Mmmm... Montana. I've always wanted to go to Glacier National Park. And Banff and Jasper. I've been to Colorado a bunch, but never seen the northern Rockies.
To: RMDupree
Does Montana even have an airport?
Ungh, I'm dripping sweat. I can feel that workout already.

Got an email from the Hobbit Hole blog today...
I am a Infantryman serving on the front lines here in Iraq and some of my fellow soldiers have received the CQB3 Camillus knife from you and man are they are well done. I was wondering if it would be possible to get one of these great knives from you. I would like to thank you for supporting my soldiers here in Iraq.
"...man are they are well done" Kudos, winmag, and thanks again for all the work you put into this!

It has several. I checked that first. :-D
I've been using this website since it lists vacation rentals by state. Then, I just look for a high number of bedrooms (at least 4 or 5) and take a look.
I don't think many of us are skiers, so I figure a summer rental would be easier to arrange and more affordable.

I figure it would have to be a 5 day vacation with a weekend included. Maybe a Thursday to Monday to minimize days off for us workin' folk.
I'm not too picky about where it is, so long as there is plenty to do for those who want to do stuff. As well as, plenty of hang out space for those of us (like me) who are happy to just lay around, talk and eat. :-D
Oh yeah, and I'd like to see mountains again if possible.

I love mountains... and if we're doing it in the summer, I'd appreciate somewhere a bit less humid than Florida...

SSQ and I had an "Aventinus" 'Doppelbock' the other night. I think we've found a nice 'Winter beer'. It was mighty tasty!
