The Hobbit Hole XXII - ...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Rose's favorite song is "In Just Seven Days, I Can Make You a Man"... I think my favorite is Frank's intro song (title not posted, in keeping with the family nature of the thread...)

In just seven days,I can make you a man! With the visual of Frank estatically sliding on the horse ...!
Closely followed by:
Well, you
Had a flat!
Well!
How 'bout that?
With the visual of Frank doing that strut that only Frank can do ...!

Yah... I was lookin' at various lyrics... decided most of it shouldn't be posted... :-)
It is interesting however, after all these years, that Tim Curry's performance and the rest of the cast as well... that none of it really seems dated. It's coming up on thirty years old... believe it or not... and as wierd as it was it is still just as fresh as it was then.

Hah!
That's too funny... I know it may be hard to believe, but after about my 35th time seeing it at the U.W., me and some friends actually got into the cast for the onstage play-along. Believe it or not... I got the part of... Rocky.
Yes... that was many many moons ago. I know its hard to believe... but I was once in really good shape with the washboard abs and everything. My roomie was a *perfect* Frankenfurter.
[sigh]

Did you at least get to wear the gold skivvies?

He came in last night at 10pm and when he walked in the door I asked "That paper finished?" He threw his head back and laughed. Hope he keeps thinking that's funny...I'm gonna ask him every single day...
;-)
Amazingly, during our visits at Shootmoot, Osage Bowman told us about an area in Tulsa that he dealt with back years ago when he was helping with the building of the turnpike here. He was telling about an old lagoon they had to maneuver around. After a bit more talking, we figured out that the lagoon was the exact wetlands Steve is doing his thesis on...Heatherridge Wetlands!
How about THAT for a coincidence!
